15 to about 25 seems to be in hr worst speed range for the default Icon valving. The solution is more skinny pedal :)

This is actually pretty standard from most companies. Pretty much anything not pure OEM replacement with any sort of customization has to be sent out to the manufacturer to make.

Did a good 2 years of research and ended up going with an Icon Stage 6. Really breaks down to what type of wheeling you do. I'm building an overland rig so I knew I wanted something a bit stiffer which the valving and stiffer stock springs of the Icons help out with. It's my daily driver and yes it's a bit bumpy on the road, but I like being able to feel connected to the road. Even with the sway bar delete and some weight up top I feel like I can throw my shoulder into a corner with confidence. When I first put them on I was honestly pissed because they felt terrible, but once I flexed them a bit in the desert they feel amazing. Getting up to speed it almost feels freakish because you will see a big washout while you're doing over 45mph and grit your teeth because you know it's going to hurt but you don't even notice you hit it.

The CDC valving is super useful. On the road I can turn up the stiffness of the suspension (usually run about a 7) then drop it down for slower crawling (S-1) and finally set it to 2-3 for higher speed desert trails. Bought them through Off Road Warehouse and the service has been fantastic, so that's also a plus.

Hello all - after reading the last 20 pages of this thread (sorry all 1039 posts were just too much) opened me up a lot more to what I'm getting into. Currently I'm still stock for suspension, I have Camburg uniballs ready for install but I'm in the process of picking out my coilover setup. Originally I was dead set on the Icon Extended Travel w/ resi's however given that a lot of people seem to dislike the harshness of daily driving (which is all relative to the person - I don't think it would phase me much since I used to daily drive a track prepped Evo - but since I'm getting older and comfort is a plus) it might be an option to go with the Kings.

I saw that King offered an "extended droop" option with the 700# springs I plan on going with (off wheeler's site). I'm guessing this extended droop is similar to Icon's extended travel design? I do a bit more overlandish style off roading and as far as what I have encountered not that much rock-crawling. My question is would it be detrimental in any way to go with the extended droop setup?

Lift wise I was aiming for approx 3" with the King Coilovers/struts all around with OME Dakars for the leaf springs and camburg UCA's.

I appreciate the help, my apologies for my noobness with this stuff.

The "extended droop" is the same as "extended travel", basically they take out a 1" spacer and thats the only difference. I love my kings, had them as mid travel and now long travel and wouldn't trade them for any other brand.. But no it wouldn't be detrimental at all to run them, just need uniball UCA's which you have.

I have no regrets going with Icon. I could never call them "harsh". Like you said, it's all relative.

King extended droop will be just right for you and what you do. I loved mine before going Long Travel King coilovers. I had icons and with my truck also being a DD it was a little harsh. You will be very pleased with the setup you have choosen.

The big question is do you have a plate bumper or plan to?

If you are going with 700lb springs you better have a steel plate bumper, winch, full steel skids, and sliders to compensate or it'll be a rough ride. I'd go 650lb springs if I were you.

You and I think alike, haha. That's why I asked about the bumper situation.

Currently I have full skids (ifs/trans/tcase/gas tank/lca) and sliders, a mobtown front hitch receiver and cap. The plan is mid summer I'll be going HC rear and possibly a plate front bumper if I find one I like. I'm patiently waiting for C4 fab to make the 2016 HC with tubed sides for the 2nd gen.........

Also the plan for right now is to use the hitch on the front/rear as a winch receiver.

Steel or aluminum skids? I'd still probably go with 650lb springs since you want a more plush ride it sounds like.

I'd go 650 still if it's going to take you some time to get the front bumper and more weight. But if you don't mind the extra bumpy ride then go for it.
