    I think the standard Toyota suspension is about 590# from the factory so that it is soft for on road manners with no heavy stuff. My kings came with a 650# spring.

    So my suspension sunk in.. and I started rubbing the cab mount pretty decent. so I raised my front about an 1". No more rubbing, but I feel vibration on the high way.. and overtime I hear "clink, Clack" or something like.. I freak the F**k out like a bolt snapped off or something.. even though it was probably just a rock in my tire getting loose, lmao. my rear end is sagging ass a lot now too..

    WTF?! :(

    The vibes could be related to the front diff needle bearing. Do the vibs go away when you take your foot off the throttle?

    You realize the first time you flex out your front end you're gonna rub. Lift does not clearance anything, it merely let's you drive. Would hate to hit a large bump in the road doing 60 and have a tire slow itself down on the cab mount, would not be a fun time. Let alone off road.

    Yes. What size tires are you running.

    All a lift does is move the suspension down, you aren't gaining any extra travel, so unless you adjusted your bumps down, at some point you're going to stuff your tires on something and without clearancing for the larger tires you're now back where you started. Obviously not all the time, but like I said, imagine going around a corner at some speed and there's a bump there that flexes out the suspension a little bit, suddenly your tire is smashing the cab mount or pinch weld and either rubbing hard enough to stop the tire (doubtful) or create enough stress to break stuff. Pinch weld is easy enough to massage flat with a mallet, that way you're not slicing tires.

    Bottom line is, if you get larger tires and you rub at any point, you need to clearance.

    I need to make a trip to Cali.. i have a lot of friends out there that would be able to do it for me... nothing here in ABQ.. and I don't have the tools to do it myself. (at least I don't think.)

    I have the exact tires. Heavily recommend CMC with the small plates. I cut for 35s just so I know at this size there is no way I will make contact since im LT.

    I would recommend ordering the plates or seeing someone who has had it done. You will realize if you dont already that it doesnt take much of a chop to get this done. Cutting to me is the easy part. I even went a few weeks before I got mine filled. Structurally they dont need the plate, but to keep debris and stuff you want to eventually seal it. My stuff is completely boxed now.

    Plates are not a bad idea, but by no means required. I plated mine with some 10ga because I had it handy.
