it’s stiff enough to stay in place but can flex If there is contact once the shock compress.

This is the product. I just cut it to 2” wide

You emailed King asking for boot recommendations and that's what their response was?

I didn’t ask for specifics. I just asked if they’d be good for my usage or not. A yes or no was all to be expected.

Nice. I ended up using a Buna-N rubber. A bit more expensive but its resistant to just about every oil and grease you might find on a truck, even gas.

Cut to fit and pop it on. Havent done any off road trips with it yet, but no issues on the highway so far

I bought mine from fleabay for about $14. Pro-comp brand, I think.

Found them, I'm debating whether I should cut them to allow installation with the shock installed. This would be allow me to shove a hose in there and rinse out any accumulated gunk every once in awhile.

or just leave them as is, install, and figure out a way to wash/rinse out.

that's what i'm thinking. i don't want the shafts 'sealed' at all and i'm really just focused on strikes at high speed. so more a guard and less of a boot.

Been running the Daystars for 4 years, cut them so the aren't bunched up and hanging loose at ride height. They see plenty of water and mud and lots of high speed rocks, especially hanging down super low on my 4Runner. The shafts still look new, never rinsed them out. I have had to replace them as they get torn up stuffing them with the shock fully compressed, you can see one of the bites in the pics. But for how cheap they are, no brainer for me, would recommend.
