I tried searching key words for king suspension and i couldnt find crap relevant to my question, feel free to send links if i overlooked them.

Looking for input/opinion on Kings suspension for the third gen tacoma.
The main questions im looking for are street performance. How well it does for daily driving
Also how well it performs offroad!

I currently have the toytec boss 2.5 all around with total chaos uppers and dakar leaf pack. For ME this rides extremely stiff to the point its pretty embarrassing to drive a passenger around town. Wife refuses to ride in my truck its that bad. I know my truck wont ride like a cadilac and i dont expect it to but i do expect it to perform like a suspension and absorb bumps!

I spoke to a rep at kings and told them my needs and they reccomended
25001-119A King 2.5 Front Remote Reservoir Coilovers
    &

25001-121A King 2.5 Rear Remote Reservoir Shocks

thoughts? Will kings make much of a difference? Everyone says they are the best

My Kings ride about the same as the stock OR supsension on the street however I also have 500# of steel armor, 700# coils, and no sway bar. They are soft and comfortable but handle corning with no sway bar just fine.

Offroad they are a cloud nine

I wouldnt get the adjusters though. Its a huge cost upgrade and for the most part are rarely touched. You might fiddle with them initially and then not bother

sound like their really trying to up-sell you on the kings. if you don't do a lot of off-roading i'd go with 2.5 coil overs w/o resi and 2.0 in the rear.
I have icons all around so can't chime in much on the ride but am sure it's smooth out your ride.
    Do you have E-rated tires?

got it, nothing to do with tires then. i have E-rated and you can differently feel all the little ruts in the road.

Springs are what makes lift, what should also be what makes ride 'stiffness'.

Dampers are there to control the springs.

However, if the dampers are too weak for the spring, things won't 'feel controlled'

If the dampers are too stiff for the springs, the springs won't function as intended, again causing control issues.

Both of those conditions are more often felt by the occupants (particularly in a street truck) as a lousy ride.

    So.

Whatever springs you have sets the tone. Make sure the shock is valved properly for the spring rate in use.

(it's why I personally dislike preload for creating lift, as you start off hampering the springs' natural behavior)

Yes I know I’m a 2G. But the first late Orange light left hand turn I made after installing Kings I was hooked and convinced. The truck handled Fkn awesome. I dont have much to compare to, but I’m glad I went with them. Good on an off road. I agree with above post on the ADJ. I adjust my rears for towing but hardly ever touch the front. I just added them more for resale and my budget is 43 with no kids.

Talk to Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road she can help set you strait. Or call toytec and see what they say. Going to a manufacturer and asking them, they will want you to buy there stuff. Hence why I recommend calling or messaging Marie she is more neutral vendor

First. You are in Cali...disregard the +2 nonsense and only settle for a 3.5 or wider.

First I’d play around with your current setup, what adjustments do you have? Most importantly have you cranked your preload adjustment too much? That would give you a horrible ride. Most people here call it “ride height” and use it for that purpose. but that’s not at all what the preload adjustments are for, it’s just an offshoot of setting static sag. So if you cranked that thinking all you were adjusting was the ride height you could easily make the mistake of creating a shitty ride.
