One more question: can you share photos of how you've secured this to your bed? I'm guessing turn-buckles on the two d-rings that are present on the driver's side, but did you you also do anything else to secure the platform from the other direction (essentially middle of the bed)?

This isn't 100% correct and I know I've probably left some little things off... but it's off of my working spreadsheet
    Cabinet Build SS.jpg
I made the drawers and everything on the fly. I had done some rough drawings of how I wanted it to come together but we built the drawers to fit the dimensions of the slides within the confines of the cabinet.

The tool drawer pull out was made just long enough and high enough to fit the bike pump. That was the only weird concession we made with the drawers.

I have no idea on the exact weight... I'd assume 250 lbs dry at this point. and it has a 10 gallon tank. So if you factor in 1 gallon of water at 8.36 lbs per gallon, then it would weigh an additional 83.6 lbs full

As for windoors... do it. Easily the most important/best addition i could have done. You really can't access the back of the bed without crawling in if you don't have the windoors. As for leaks... none that I've noticed. but if it did leak a little bit, it wouldn't be an issue with the bed's ability to still drain.

I went with the RakAttach which is super stable and will support up to 350 lbs. It's honestly awesome and I wish I had one when with my van. If you're in the market for a whole new rack system, check out the new RockyMounts Backstage Swing Away Platform Rack.

Its not all mounted down yet. But you are correct on the turnbuckles to D-rings, that is how I was planning to do it. Also, when we we built it we built it so the back is stuck under the topper and fits into the channel along the cab. I also drilled out some of the wood on the front to sit flush over the d-ring by the tailgate. And even after some pretty serious 4 wheeling, it didn't move last weekend.

this is sweet! Have any tips on problems encountered during build? Im thinking about building something along these lines and may just start with the framing and slowly add on... I feel like the most difficult part would be building the drawer that fully pulls out, how were you able to have it support the weight? Thanks bud and nice work!

Strong work, which size rackattach is that? I have the 4 bike NV, probably need the large, but would love to know your thoughts.

I didn't really encounter too many issues other than making sure you have enough room to clear the topper cab when you fold over the sleep system. I had already factored that in with my goal to protect/fold around the mattress, but I didn't realize that at the back window area has a smaller opening and I had to cut out part of the board with a Jigsaw. The only issues I had were little fitment ones here and there that we worked around.

As for the drawers and keeping them supported... They were pretty easy to make, just watch a couple youtube vids on making drawers and they even talk about building them to spec with your drawer slides. Its easier than you'd think. Supporting the drawer weight was no problem because I used 500lb slides for the big drawer and they do an awesome job. The smaller drawer uses regular 28" Knape and Voight slides. If you're trying to save money though, there are a lot of other solution than the slides I used. The drawer slides were one of my most expensive items to the build.

The Tacoma uses a medium and I think you'd be just fine with that. The NSR 4 isn't much wider than a regular platform rack, however that being said, Walter at RakAttach (the guy you email with) can answer that question for you 100%. You have to email them to buy it. Another pro to the RakAttach is it will help get those back wheels further off the ground, which seems to be a big issue for a lot of friends that take their truck off the beaten path or hit the occasional tight dip or curb with bikes on the back.
