alright guys, i'm looking to get a 33x10.50R15 and these are the tires ive "narrowed" it down to. Ive done a lot of research and such looking and im still on the fence. So PLEASE help me out here. I can get the km2 for $207 a tire and the toyos for $234 a tire so not a huge price difference. Im a little worried about the toyo weighing so much more then the km2 because it is my DD...

I can't tell you anything about the KM2's, but I can say that I have the Open Country 32's (265/70/17) on my DD and I absolutely love them. They are heavy tires which means I have to use a bit more throttle getting off the line than I used to (stick), but their performance has been awesome.

I was in your dilemma a few years back. The KM2s are what I went with because of the price point. They are AWESOME tires, if you can get them balanced. Air those suckers down and they perform very well! I currently have 55k on my tires, looking for new ones, but could make it through the winter if I had to.

I know I can't go wrong with another set of KM2's, but I'm really tempted to try the Open Country M/T's still. Oh and don't worry, even the KM2's are gonna slow you down, but you'll still have plenty of snoose.

Never seen snow or idk if they will living in south Texas lol but as far as wet an rainy conditions ive never had a problem unless you puposely loose traction, wheeled with them in rocks and such, never let me down once..And i dont exactly know what you mean by chunking

I'm a toyo fan. I've had the open country A/T for 30k+ miles and they still have have tread left. Been great all around tires and have a good gash on the inside of one of them with no issues to it. My next set will be the open country M/T.

I have a friend who had over 50k on his open country M/T with a decent amount of tread life left. They also performed well in the snow when we were hunting.

the Toyo's may be more expensive but definitely worth the price. Plus they just look awesome

Any extra wide tire is more apt to hydroplane in big puddles but I've never had any issues....I always take it easy in the wet stuff. They're way better in rain than the Super Swamper SX's I had in the past & very close in mud performance.

When I say chunking I mean chunks of your tire missing haha..that snow trip looked pretty awesome, which truck had the km2s? And I seems most of you guys are seeing like 35k out of the km2s? Well if you guys love em in the snow which was my main concern... I may be going that route... Especially Becuase I'll save $120 haha.. They toyos also just seem to stiff to really wrap around rocks well and such

All tires chunk when you put them thru hard rocks etc. Softer compound tires will chunk more. Both of these tires are pretty hard and will chunk less than most others. I have ran both, I've chunked both badly but overall very satisfied with both. I currently run the Toyos, I feel they are a superior tire to the BFG simply because they are rounder, they almost always take less than half the weight of the BFG to balance. This translates to better more uniform wear. I also like the sidewall grip better on the Toyos. They are pretty aggressive and bite well when being forced upwards on a rock or vertical wall. The Toyos are heavier which may translate to a little loss power an mileage but a very small amount. The additional weight also means it is a more robust tire and likely more puncture resistant.
Just my 2 cents, both are great tires.

Oh ok i gotcha, not yet but shit that ive been through i figured that they would have some missing, gone through alot of rocks in 2wd where it would hop in the rear quite abit but i have all the tread on the tire still...oh and mine may not wear as fast cause theyre load range C

Mine show some wear from the rocks but definitely no chunking. I had the KM2s on my rig and had no problem going through snow up to my hood.

Here is some minor chunking. Toyo with 12k on it. I'd say about half the miles on these are in the dirt. These have been thru some really nasty rocks that really tear tires up and the chunking is very minorImageUploadedByTapatalk1354899402.434498.jpg

Well thanks for all the input guys, just ordered the KM2's! Decided to go that route because they weigh less, everyone seems to love them, and I think they will perform a little better!

Weight is a good reason! They're still heavy though... lol. I play hell trying to line my wheel studs up... :)
