Does anyone have experience with KMC Wheel's reinforcement rings? I have a set of XD125s on my 2013 and the rings are starting to peel clear coat. I would like to refinish them. Is it ok to remove the ring without dismounting the tire? I know this is not a true beadlock but I can't find info anywhere on this. Appreciate any help. Thanks Joe.

Mine are part of the wheel. Run your finger on the inside of the lip on the inner wheel and if you can’t feel a lip or parting line they are a solid piece.753101D7-74F5-479A-8567-ED950482CC70.jpg

Hmm.. Mine definitely have a lip and very much appear to be a separate piece. Left side of pic is wheel, right side is ring. Thanks for the info..

I’d have to agree agree with you. Do you have a matching spare? I would remove a wheel, deflate it, and remove the ring. Or raise the wheel off of the ground, deflate, and remove the ring.

Great idea. Wish I had a matching spare.. I'll pull one and let you know how it goes.

Even without a spare you can deflate without breaking the bead. They aren’t true bead locks so probably wouldn’t even need to let the air out. Just take out the bolts, if they are actual bolts, and see if it comes off.

My brief google search tells me they aren’t removable. I do believe your plastic bolts come out so with a bit of sanding and taping off you should still be able to paint them up pretty nice.

Thanks for taking the time. My bolts are definitely steel. Magnet hooks right up. I believe the ring is aluminum. Can you help me with where you found that info? I spent a couple hours searching.

I just googled replacement rings for those wheels and nothing came up. Figured if it was a thing it would be there. Hopefully yours come apart otherwise your best bet is to have them all powdered, get new wheels, or live with it.
