    Hey guys,

Hopefully someone can shed a little bit of light on this for me. I've had a few Toyota trucks and never have I ran into this issue.

I have a '15 Tacoma TRD Sport and picked up the XD Enduro 122 in 17s. After reading a few posts from back in the day on here, I found that most guys used the E/T lug nuts over replacing the wheel studs. I confirmed this with the folks at Wheel Acc and purchased their recommended E/T lug nuts plus the "Toyota" center caps. Well after an hour and 2 red bulls, the stock tires rims went back on in a sign of defeat and shear disappointment.

Problem one...the XD center caps specifically for Toyota's (as told to me) do not fit. $80 down the drain

Problem two...the E/T lug nut's E/T portion OD and the XD rim lug nut hole's ID are so close to the same size that the lug nuts actually jam themselves even before reaching the conical seat. I can get average of 2 turn on them before it feels like I might break something. In fact, one lug nut was so stuck, we had to use a punch to remove it, but it ended up blowing through the other end of the lug nut before it popped out.

I shot an email to the Wheel Acc guys, but haven't heard anything yet...

Has anyone had issues with this or XD wheel in general?

You can see where the E/T portion was chewing up my lug hole...

Maybe the wheel holes' ID and the lug nuts' OD are too close in tolerance and not enough allowance was given for the thickness of the powder coat. Though the holes looked messed up, it looks like the powder coat is just chewed up. Take a small round fine file, remove the powder coat from the wheel and try again.

They getting caught up below the conical seat (unpainted area). The area around the holes above the seat are way good, no clearance issues there. We took sand paper/alum oxide strips to inside several times without any luck. I'd just hate to start filing away at the inside as I do not want to damage the seat itself.

Those are the mag style of lug nut, that's what is on the stock set up I have. The XD's use a acorn (tapered) style, but I see what your getting at. I didn't sand the E/T portion of the lug nut down simply because it isn't that thick and I didn't want to weaken the lug integrity. We instead sanded down the inside of the wheels just below the seat. But it didn't help all much.

One of the posts I was looking at on here said it would better to replace all 24 wheel studs with longer ones and just use the standard bulge acorn nuts. Seems like this is going to cost more than it's worth...

I can get an average of two full turns before it gets stuck. I kept going to see if it would free itself...which it didn't. I didn't want to push it with the breaker bar as I did not want to potential sheer a stud. I'd be up crap creek without a paddle. We tried several of the lug nuts (I had 24 to choose from) and they all did the same thing. Even tried differen wheel/lug nut combos.

The shop tech said he has never seen this issue with lugs before and suggested I call the company that sold them to me to see if it is a manufacturing defect.

I had 16" Enduros on my Tacoma for a bit, I had no issues. I also ran them without center caps and it looked great, I actually prefer most rims without center caps. I am just out on running lug centric rims so I went back to stock, you are just asking for vibes. I also used the E/T lug nuts without issues.
