    Thanks :D

Had a change in plans. I won't be able to get the sliders and light bar welded on until july 10th so I'm going to take the bumper back off tomorrow and paint it black :(

If you do when you go to weld the lightbar your gunna have to sand the paint back down and once its welded your gunna have to do a lot more cleanup cause the surrounding paint will be burnt etc.. not a huge problem but just letting you know. Id have just put it on unpainted till you got the lightbar

Yeah, I was just thinking it would be easier to have the whole bumper painted so that I won't really need to take it off to paint it again once the light bar is welded on. How much of the surrounding paint is going to be burnt? Just some of the area around the welds or all over the bumper from sparks and stuff?

Just me sure to take the paint down to the metal and touching up won't be so bad, its just your gunna have to go through the trouble of painting it again

as far as how much paint ya gotta take off, here's some pics from box rocket whenever he welded the light bar on..

I hope I won't have to repaint the whole thing now :frusty:

Thanks, I like both my TG bumpers. I prefer the tube bumpers over plate if you haven't noticed :)
Yeah I saw that thread and that's why I decided to paint it before getting the light bar welded on.

well if you use a satin or semi gloss paint they will blend alot better. it might look obvious at first but once it cures and stuff it will look like nothing happened.

I used a semi gloss so hopefully it blends well then.

Thanks, I'm glad I picked the TG bumper over the Avid bumper. The TG just looks so good lol. I swapped out the washer reservoir with one from an 87 Toyota pickup too.

    Looks awesome!

For the shallower res, do you know if they came only on 2nd gen pickups/1st gen runners?

Also what are you doing about the turn signals? relocating them to the corner lights or burning in TG LED ones?

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe it would be on 83-88 pickups for sure then possibly other years as well. I would think the 1st gen 4runner would have the same washer fluid reservoir as well. I took it off a 1987 4wd 22R pickup. I used the pump from my Tacoma and it plugged right in the pickup reservoir. I had to cut off 2 wires from the harness and sealed them up. I think the wires were for the washer fluid level sensor.

For turn signals I already had done the fog light mod so my corner lights were already turn signals and I just took the bulbs out of the "fog lights" and tucked the wires up inside the fender with the corner light wires. So basically I have turn signals in my corner lights but no parking/running lights.
