Like stated earlier - you either like'em or hate'em. The "KEY"paragraph in the often cited comparison test used to discredit reusable filters is:
"The Flow Restriction response curves for each filter have the same basic shape. However, note how the AC Filter, which passed the smallest amount of dirt and had the highest dirt capacity and efficiency, also had the highest relative restriction to flow. The less efficient filters correspondingly had less restriction to flow. This illustrates the apparent trade-offs between optimizing a filter for dirt capturing ability and maximum airflow."

And, that, is the "marketing HOOK". Love'em or hate'em, I've run K&N's in dozens of vehicles, never had a catastrophic engine failure, never seen reduced resale value, and never seen the negative consequences of reduced filtering efficiency (whatever that is). There are a number TW testimonials citing engines going "hundreds of thousands" of miles using K&N filters, so, perhaps it's much ado about nothing.

Correct. One filters air being pulled through by the negative pressure created by a piston's movement, and the other filters air being pulled through by the negative pressure created by a squirrel cage blower.

I suffer from allergies as well. Unfortunately wont make a lick of difference which filter you go with.

This is what makes America great - entrepreneurs - "intelligent people like yourself" - you should be raking in the big dough very soon, I can see a whole line of "ReeTRD" lift kit adapters, wheel adapters, muffler adapters, seat cover adapters etc. This place provides such fertile ground for such new and innovative marketing ideas, given the divergent opinions on almost everything. Keep us us advised of your ever expanding ReeTRD product line expansion. Decals are a really nice touch - maybe a market unto itself.

I can appreciate the attempt at humor.

That being said, I'd be willing to bet a paper cabin air filter would filter better than a K&N cotton filter.

There's no oil on this thing, it's electrostatic recharge. No, if you can't maintain the air filter without screwing up your MAF then don't buy one. Don't buy the cabin air either because somehow you'll magically fuck up your fan too.

Hmmm...wonder if there's a foam style filter. Like the cleanable ones you use in your furnace. Could probably even make one. I've never even checked the cabin filter in my truck. Might be good to do this!

Filter still good to go. I have bad allergies and tired of paying $8 every 3-6 months for nothing more than paper. The charcoal style filters are $5 more. There is nothing better than rinsing out the filter w soapy water and reinstalling after it is dry. I plan on keeping my truck until the wheels fall off, so it is a no brainer to buy this product.

I know KN filters get a lot of flak on this website, but this filter is not filtering air into a 4.0 liter $3000 combustion chamber, it is just filtering air into my cabin. Don't overthink this.

I couldn't figure out why I would get sinus headaches and itchy eyes when I would turn on the ac of my taco. Until I went to change the cab filter & found this in there. I got a puralator but will be replacing it with k&n soom.
