    Not enough...
I have '14 with 46K miles on it. Last week on the way from from Tahoe check engine light and track-off lights came off. Checked my ScanGauge and it shows P0333 Knock Sensor 2 voltage. Also had some weird noise coming from the back, under the truck. Sounded like the spare tire chain slamming on metal, but I wrapped it up and the noise was still coming.

Anyway, take it to the dealer yesterday and they straight up tell me that if the sensor is bad its covered under warranty, but in 99% of the cases it's caused by rodents eating the wires, which, obviously, not covered by warranty and its going to be $2950 to replace the harness.

Just got the call back. They got to the sensor and its fine, but a single white wire in the harness is cut clean. SA said the cut is so clean, it looks like it was cut with a razor blade! No rodent dropping and nothing else out of ordinary. He is talking to the management and probably Toyota to see how to approach that. And the noise... he still has no idea what it is. They pulled the exhaust, and beginning to think I need a new drive shaft....

So here I am... waiting to see if I need to drop $3K+ for no apparent reason....

Just got a call back. They are covering everything under my extended warranty. So looks like the warranty just paid for itself.

Damn straight it did. Replacing the sensor harness is a $1800-2000 job itself.

Had the same code, and a rat had eaten the harness. Dealer replaced the harness for just under $1k. Insurance covered it. I'm still under warranty but it didn't cover rodent damage. Now I'm spraying every rat repellent spray Amazon has to offer under there.

I picked up a 12 4.0 qclb recently. It only had 35k miles but the CEL was on. I got "knock sensor bank 2" on my code reader. I took it to my mechanic who started the tear down to get to the knock sensors. It turned out that a squirrel had made a home under the intake & was using the harnes as a snack. I was lucky that the damage was not at the base but about 4 inches up the wire. It was cut soldiered & heat wrapped. No more CEL. There were enough acorns under the intake to feed an entire clan of squirrels.

Glad to here you got your truck fixed under warranty.
