    Hi Guys and Galls
First i want to thank you all for the info i have found on the site.
I had the P0333 code come up on my 06 Tacoma 4L. The code is for the upper knock sensor with the most common problem is that a rodent has chewed the wires off.
I took my intake off (the security torques bolts don't need to be removed) and found that indeed was my problem -eaten wires. The one hold up was removing the two coolant pipes that run under the intake and between the heads. I think these pipes are installed before the heads as they will not come out. I cut the two brackets that hold the coolant pipes together with a die grinder, the pipes were then free to be removed out the top. I removed the rear coolant housing thinking the pipes would come out but no love. I don't think u have to remove the rear housing is my point. By cutting the pipes apart the large coolant line can be removed and provide access to the chewed wires for repair. The harness is $45 and about a foot long. It was a one day wait to order so i soldered in wire and used heat shrink. Reassembly was quick and easy. The codes cleared, high gear is back, fuel mileage is back! Was about 3 hours to tear down and 2 hours to reassemble. I hope this helps someone to save a pile of money.

Thanks for sharing your ordeal. I am now going through the same thing on my 2007 Tacoma. The truck has been great until this. ARRRRRRG!
Do you happen to have the part number for that harness?

    Welcome to the forum.

There is a good video on U-Tube on cutting the brackets on the coolant tubes, then just pull the large tube out the front to access the Knock sensor. look under FJ cruiser same engine.
