Hello my fellow taco lovers. ‘02 prerunner with 340,000 miles just through a KS code. We tore it apart and replaced both sensors and wiring and it still had the check engine light saying faulty bank 2. Researched everything and realized we didn’t replace with OEM parts. Tore it completely apart again and put Denso sensors and wiring. Still throwing a code, but bank 1. Help! What are we missing here???

You are probably not missing anything. The Knock Sensor has a frequency range that it operates in, my gut is telling me that with 340k on the motor that a combination of all of the loose moving parts in the motor is setting it off, not a spark knock. Can I prove this no.

I remember in the late 90's Nissan had an issue and they relocated the knock sensor on certain models... I forget if this was a factory thing or an aftermarket fix. Could you relocate them on your 3.4, maybe, but as you disoverd the PCM is pretty smart and it might toss a code that no one is expecting.
