Knocking issues?

Just a little backstory on this engine, both knock sensors on this were bypassed less than 2 years ago. This engine does not have and kind of tuning or fuel mods to support the s/c, simply was bolted on when I received it roughly 4-5 years ago.

In the past few months this truck has sat mostly stationary though has been started and moved frequently. This seems like only a recent problem and my assumption is that it comes down to the inevitable issues that come from not properly modding this engine. The shop that also fixed the sensor issues also explained to me that the fix was merely temporary and there was a chance future issues might occur.

What I’m curious about now is the source of this noise, I’ve linked a video to it. It’s only really audible at low rpms.

Sort of sounds localized up top in that area. Any plastics vibrating against something? Doesn’t really sound like knock to me.

 

When was the last time the blower was serviced? Might be the blower

 

Sounds like the supercharger to me,
Probably not knock sensors

Take the belt off the supercharger so it's not spinning and run it for just 30 seconds and report back

 

I honestly do not know. Is there a thread relating to maintenance on them?

 

I agree, it does sound located up and to the right side, as far as I can see there’s nothing loose in there. As others have suggested it might be the blower.

 

Or take a stethoscope and put it on rotor pack area or nose snout section

 

You'd be correct, the sound wasn't audible after taking off the belt. Definitely coming from the blower.

Don't drive it, you can do more damage that will cost u more

Did you ever check the snout oil level?

Your rotor pack seals can leak oil out of the snout into the supercharger and run dry and you will never know it till its to late if u don't check

 

I have not. If I can I will check. Looks like it's time to start saving.
