More info is needed. When the truck stopped running initially, you're saying a new starter was installed? That seems like an unlikely repair for an engine that just quit running driving down the road.

    - What exactly happened when the engine quit running the first time? Noises, cutoff very quickly, started to misfire but ran a ways,.... details of the engine failure?

    - Did the check engine light came on and what are the codes if so?

    - Except for the knock, is the engine running okay now and was the starter the only repair you made?

    - "...has compression.." What are the cylinder compression readings?

    - Is the knock very steady, low pitched sound, and matches the engine RPMs, or random, clanking, variable? Bearing knock, ignition timing knock, or failing/broken part knock is what this would help set next steps on determining knock source.

    - You ask if it could be the water pump. Have you checked for water circulation through the engine/radiator?

The more details you list, the more likely someone on here will be able to recognize the problem, or at least give you better direction for what to check.

    Good luck.

If the truck is running and the water pump is 'broke' the fan / pulley will be wobbling like crazy.

Thanks for the help well the engine runs good except for knock the only light that is in is oil light. Also before it went down it was making loud knocking nosie then wouldn't start so I've changed starter an water pump however it starts now also seems like the knocking nosie is loud however i don't want to run it to much scared to damage something also when truck first went down it was froze took out all spark plugs also valve cover off I was able to get it in froze just trying to give as much info as I can I was thinking of changing oil pump

Your oil light is on? The oil light comes on where there's dangerously low oil pressure, which causes a knocking noise when internal engine components start to make contact without proper lubrication. That is not good

“Loud knocking noise, oil light on, seized once dead but you were able to break it free” all sound like a serious internal problem with little or no oil pressure due to broken or severely worn parts. Fixable? Probably won’t be cheap. I’d start looking for another engine.

Anytime that oil light goes on it’s time to shut the motor off ASAP and coast to the shoulder. Driving a car with the oil light on is a sure way to kill an engine. First to go normally would be rod bearings, then main and cam bearings. Once you’ve spun a bearing you’ll need a new crankshaft and probably a set of rods.

Keep driving with the knock and the oil light on and eventually something is going to break. Connecting rods have been known to come right through the side of a block or oil pan. Timing chains will snap due to the extra load of dry cam bearings about to seize up.
Or, an oil pressure sensor went bad and there’s a chipmunk in your oil pan cracking walnuts. Ya never know until you take it apart what actually happened.

What did you do to unstick the engine?

Hey thanks for letting me know what I've been thinking I really thankful. Any how I broke the motor by taking breaker bar an a socket on fly wheel an pulled back an forth it wouldn't make a full rotation i haven't been driving it for fear of blowing a hole in something I'm not in any position to buy anything else an i think that I'm gonna go with your recommendation an start looking for motor again I thank you for your help an honesty an i will keep forum on ending results.

I wonder if perhaps you might have dropped a valve into a piston locking it up. That wouldn’t explain the lack of oil pressure by itself. Definitely do an autopsy on the old motor!
