2000 Tacoma 4x v6, intermittent knocking on drivers side at highway speeds been driving me crazy for last couple of months. Accidentally noticed a corner of the splash apron had come unattatched. Removed it until I get new anchors. No more knocking. Didn't think a small piece of rubber could make that much noise.

So the rubber was catching wind and flapping up, hitting the plastic wheel well liner? I can see that.

I'm guess it was also intermittent at different speeds?

Intermittent at different highway speeds, mostly around the 70s. I'm just happy it wasn't motor related.
