All the issues were corrected on my truck and it’s perfect now and I wouldn’t have any other. I have had no mechanical issues they were just cosmetic.

Not BS just facts do your research! Everything I have stated is fact you must surf the threads looking for someone to criticize! OP wanted to know known issues I spelled out just a few. I have never said that 3rd gen Tacoma was a bad truck if you would have bothered to read the entire thread you would have seen the positive post I have put up.

I see dozens of tacos daily up here. None of them on the side of the road and dudes/gals up here actually use their trucks as trucks.

Randomly talked to quite a few 3G taco owners and none of them had any issues whatsoever.

This forum will make you believe your truck is going to explode tomorrow.

If I had extra cash, I would’ve gladly bought a 2023 TRD PRO MT to keep nice and keep using my 2018 for work, and camping/offroading.

Toyota lost me at 4G though.

Like mentioned above, chances of these “issues” happening are very slim.

But they do happen yes they are not frequent but OP asked a question I answered with facts.

As I have said I love my truck!

Just read the entire thread and you will see the positive things I have posted.

    Itz JDM tyte, yo!
Every vehicle has their problems/weaknesses. That being said, I don't think the problems with the Tacomas are that common.

If anything, I'll provide my data point: I have a '22 TRD Off-Road, manual transmission, with 34k miles. It's used for my daily commute, and I also pulled trailers with this truck and took it off-roading. A 2 year old truck with 34k miles is too low of a mileage to say anything really about long-term reliability, but so far, I don't have any problems.

25K sales/month. You quoted problems of a dozen/month. Go back to school, learn statistics, then reply.

You posted outliers. Not actual problems. Math is hard.

Versus domestic pickup trucks, Tacomas have no problems!! Buy one and enjoy going out doing what you like, rather than sitting in the service department waiting for the next problem to be half assed fixed or not.

The actual fact is that the 2GR-FKS is one of the least reliable v6s ever put into a Toyota truck in general. There's a reason toyota decided to scrap it after 1 generation. And it's not because of emissions.

The 3.5 v6 and now the 2.7T is the new era of less reliable toyota powertrains. Because they spent built for longevity. That's not the toyota business model anymore
