New to this forum and looking for a little info/help. I have a 2010 access cab Tacoma. Have the 3 inch lift ordered. Have wheels and tires already bought. After sitting here and waiting I kept researching and found where someone that has put a 3 inch lift on 2nd gen taco with 285/75/16 tires had trouble with tires rubbing knuckle. Those are same size tires I've purchased. I am aware of the shaving and trimming. All I'm wondering is if the tire does indeed rub the knuckle what are my options? Wheels are 8.5 wide. -6 offset and 4.5 backspacing. Thanks for the help.

Someone posted here that my stock 11 Offroad wheels have 5.25" backspace and there is around 1/4" clearance between my tire sidewall and the knuckle.

So since my new wheels have 4.5 does this mean more clearance or less? I'm new to the offset/backspacing and honestly confuses me

    This is a good visualization.

Ok that makes things a little easier to understand. I'm just wanting to be 100% sure or as close to 100% that everything's gonna fit and not rub in reference to frame and steering components. I know I'll have to do some trimming and shaving on fenders just wondering about the parts you can't cut haha
