Adjust the LCAs, there is about 1" play how much further the tire can be adjusted.

If there was a record or poll of "most asked questions on TW", the "rubbing with 285's" would be about top 5..and more than likely the answer is always CMC. Just saying...

I've read the other threads and this one is very similar, as there are people on different sides. 1. CMC, 2. No problem at all. Guess I was hoping i would fall into the latter category. This is my first post and I do appreciate everyone's input and suggestion. Either way I'll let you know how it turns out.

Odd, I have the same exact tires and I don't rub at all...Must be the difference in what lift you installed...

Go BIG or go home! Get the right alinment settings, pound the pinch weld, cab mount chop, use heat gun, cut if needed.

Depending on how the alignment is done your tire may end up slightly forward or slightly back in the wheel well. Chances are your's are slightly back.
The CMC isn't a horrible mod, give you better tire clearance and as long as you paint it afterwords no rust issues.
BAMF even sells the plates pre-made. Just need to have someone cut and weld them in.

I'm trying to understand. Same tires and I barely rub ever. Only time I rub is either at a full hard turn, or going into my driveway where their is a slight dip and it compresses my shock. How much of a lift does he have? Mine is 3".

This is all about it. No matter of lift.

Mine is a 3" lift as well, and I never rub, even at full lock turn, however if I pull into, lets say a gas station that has a big bump as you enter there lot and I am driving in at a good amount of speed, then I rub, but not bad...how often do I drive fast into a parking lot...never...

:notsure:Possibly has something to do with the width of the wheel, and the offset also. I don't know.

I run the same size tire's (LT265/75R16) and have no issues. I have the Terra Grappler All-Terrain. They are awesome on and off the road. With very little road noise.

I don't understand how a CMC could help with this.
    IMG_0036.jpg

It seems to me that having a realignment and moving the wheel forward in the wheelwell would be the answer. But I'm a noob so if anyone can explain it, we could all probably benefit.

mine would only rub on a sharp turn with a pot hole or something similar. only in the rear of the tire. your front assembly might not be aligned, mine was like that after they installed the aftermarket springs and shocks. whole front assembly had shifted to the right, passengers side, after they aligned it, It only rubbed on the back side of wheel well.

now with the 265's, no issues at all. lost an inch in clearance but don't take it off road much so no bother.
