I came from having Wrangler MT/R's in E load range which on my 2016 AC TRD OR, while insanely good performance, are LOUD AS EFFFFFFF and quite the stiff ride.

I'm not looking to repeat that mistake on my 2017 DC SB TRD OR.

I'm looking at KO2's as seems to be the popular tire around here. I can only seem to find them in E load range, for those of you that have these on your Taco... what's the on pavement road noise like?

Ideally I'll be having 2 sets of tires/wheels soon, but for now it's just the one set.

I should also mention, I've seen youtube videos for these tires but nothing that has them on a taco.. usually just other larger trucks that would be less susceptible to the road noise.

pretty quiet. i had goodyear duratracs and not as quiet as people say. Duratracs were C rated and KO2 are E so they feel like they handle better to me cuz of the stiffer sidewall.

They will be quiet compared to the mud terrain but not quiet like stock. Avoid E rating, they will ride just about as rough.

Have you considered any other tires? What about a P-rated tire? C range is the best for many trucks though. The biggest reason they are so popular is they are the coolest looking, but they aren't the best performing and are the highest price. Tons of great AT options out there...

Yeah, the KO2s are extremely quiet ... no road noise. I have had the old KOs on my old 94' and now 265/75r16 KO2s on my 17'. Tried and true. Yes they are a tad heavier in load E than load C, but I am still consistently averaging around 19-20mpg. I had the Falken Wildpeaks in load C on my 15' OR but they were unproven and I've heard mixed reviews on the durability ... definitely cheaper and also quiet but this time I wanted a proven and solid tire. I considered the Duratracs, but I've heard the same thing Rob said as far as the handling. You get the bro tire shit about KO2s but who cares, they are the most solid and proven tires in my opinion.

Depending on the size they do make the ko2 in C rating. I got my 265/70/r17 on tire rack. Road noise is same as the stock wrangler Kevlar or less even.

I run 285/70/17 KO2's and they are quite, dont notice road noise at all. I run the E rated because mine is a dedicated trail rig and need the extra ply's. I run 40 PSI on the street which lowers my MPG's but rides nice. If your not going to wheel it hard or very often I would go with the C rated if you can find them.

I have the E load KO2s and will be going back to a c load tire next time. They are quiet but they are stiff. If I off roaded a lot I'd be good with them but it's too rough imo for a dd. My wife complains about it all the time too.

My 265/75/16 E rated KO2s are quieter than the Goodyears the truck came with. Ride is great as well. I run them at 45psi for street use an have no complaints.

Thanks gents, I didn't mind the stiff ride as much as the noise.. where I'm moving to it may even be prudent of me to get E load range, but I wanted to see about C first. But if y'all are collectively saying KO2 E load range is practically no noise or close to stock, then I'm fine with that.

I've had KO and KO2 sets. Actually getting my 4th put on today. Made a mistake of getting E the first time around, speaking substantial drop in MPG and stiffer ride. You can only get certain sized in either C or E, or sometimes both. You can get a C in 265/70/17. Good luck.

Im in the same boat. I don't really notice the noise over another AT tire. I too wanted E as I like to drive off road with speed and need the extra protection as well. Im sure the C rating is better MPG wise, but if you wheel you might be better off with an E rating.

Had ko2 265/75/17 E rated for a week. Had initially bought C rated but upon closer inspection they were E's and discounted changed them to C's.

I did notice a 1-2mph change during that week.

The tires are great, really no complaints. However if I had to do it over again, I would go with a 285 nitto ridge grappler

    @TexasTacoma713
That's what I almost went with 285 Ridge Grapplers in load C. Held of as I'm still waiting to lift, need CMC(possibly), and 265/70/17 fits my needs pre & post lift.

I run 285/70/17 E rated BFG's as well at 40 psi. They ride great and are quiet. If your near Charlotte NC, come drive it and see.

I have had both the C load 265/70r17 on my 16 and now the 265/75r16 E load on my 17, I get the same MPG with both and both are same sound level, if anything truck is a bit heavier.

I'm actually going to go with 265/70/17 c rated ko2s in about a week or two. Will report back vs my wranglers on my stock OR rims.

Change the wheel size to 17 and run 265/70R17 in C-load. The KO2 tires are designed to be puncture and tear resistant. I wheel in sharp volcanic rock with aired down C-load and have never had an issue. These trucks are not an F-350 requiring 1 ton E load tires.

C-load gets you a much lighter tire that is stronger than stock translating to better mpg, power, braking, ride, which is ideal for a daily driver.

275 70 R17 Ko2's...E rated. very little road noise, I dont think it's a harsh ride. I keep my tire pressure at 35psi. I average 20.5MPG on the highway and around 15/16 MPG in the city
