Hate to say this but that sounds like typical Tacoma drivetrain vibes. No power applied going downhill or letting off the gas is shouldn’t impact tire induced vibes.

My reg cab did the exact same thing. It was more apparent after getting the P-rated stock tires off and putting on real tires. It was also inconsistent, it’s been 7-8 yrs since I had the reg cab. I had to drive several 2018’s to find one with no vibes.

Rotate the tires front to back, if that fixes it great! If not try having them balanced again and see what happens.

My 2009 had the rear 3rd member replaced, entire transmission replaced, driveshaft replaced, a bs tsb where they add sound deadening material to the cab to hide the rumble sounds all under warranty. None of those issues fixed it! Three sets of tires and all the same issue.

But you have a sweet truck, I’d get another if I ever found a good one.

But back to the AT3 Toyo’s…. I had hoped to get them this round but couldn’t get 5 in the same size ffs! Nezt round hopefully!

It's these small things that drive me crazy especially for the price of what they cost now.

This issue is well known sadly. Eventually Toyota sent me a letter saying there was nothing wrong with my truck. I asked why they initially said there was a problem and changed all those parts, they refused to acknowledge anything further.

I work as a diesel tech at a kenworth dealer and when you get something like the engineers don't know what to do unfortunately

I ran BFGs for since the mid 80s and are the best looking tire still to this day. Made the switch to Toyos 4 years ago and never looked back. I never ever had a set of BFGs balance right and if your lucky they balanced correctly give it some time for the vibrations to return. I ran a set of 265/70/17 Toyo AT2s on 4runner SEMA wheels my 18 DCLB and with only 15k miles I switched them over to my 99 SR5 4Runner and upgraded to the new AT3s. I was so impressed with them when my Son got a new set for his Tacoma. The AT3 to me are the best ATs on the street today. The AT3 I believe are superior in design and will tackle rain and snow better than the BFGs.

I definitely like the tires. The tire shop just didn't balance them correctly and had to take him back to get balanced again. My old tires were loud so maybe I had the buzz rumble noise before but couldn't hear it due to the old tires. Lol.

What's everyone's mpg drop after going to the ko2 or open country? Any major mpg loss?

    Some Serious Tires
Awesome tire, I think thread pattern is very thought out, but I do not understand why they couldn’t make the sidewall a bit more aggressive. Side lugs are basically non existent, especially on SL rated.

I'm okay with the sidewalls. Some are overly aggressive and I think for my taste the At3s are perfect and I would rather have a great ride, light tire, than an overly aggressive looking sidewall that I won't use.
