I'm pretty happy at this point. The truck is on its own tires and the engine is in place. I can move it in and out with ease.

The engine/tranny is not taking up floor space, as well as the cherry picker hoist.

Now I got some breathing room for projects that have been on the books.

When the lift is blocked, everything else gets sent to full stop.

Cleaning up the spare tire guide brackets.

I honestly thought they were rusted beyond saving. They are plenty solid.

Prepping to drop the body on the chassis.

Look closely and you will see the body is balanced on only 1 pair of the lift arms. I have winch straps ensuring the cab can't tip off forward or backwards off the arm pads.

Lining up the 6 body mounts is a pain in the ass.

Tossed the frame on some wheel dollies so I could easier move the chassis.

The cab can't be moved while on the hoist, but the frame can be moved with ease.

Finding the correct position to drop cab onto the chassis is easy with some old time tech. Once lined up with the 4 perimeter cab mounts, dropping the cab was pretty straightforward...except for 1 issue.

I had moved the "J" shift 4WD lever to neutral when starting the project. The shifter will not stab up into the cab boot unless in 4High. The lever wanted to stab into the bottom of the cab if not in the correct mode. The things you learn? Hmmm?

Cab is sitting on the chassis cab mounts.

Just need to install all the bushings, rubber shock washers, bolts and nuts and tighten down.

    That's a tomorrow job.

    My ass is kicked!

That was 3.5 hours to do what I reported.

Got a late start since I took the wife out for lunch.

He's just painting the picture for you when you take that big motor out of the blue Ford and put it into the 2 door ... we wanna see pictures of the tire marks you leave on the asphalt!
