Boat is upside down now. I didnt feel like sacraficing a complete 4 x 8 sheet of aluminumn to finish off the bottom.

I went back and fourth. Do I want to section in a piece on both sides or section a larger piece on one side?

I opted to to do a single, larger piece on one side. This is the bottom and no one will see it except me and those here following from home.

You may have to zoom in to see the differnce because of shadows.

Using a bit of scrap aluminumn to pry up the sheeting to match the sister piece.

This is pretty much were I ended up for the day.

    To be continued...

I'm actually building 2 boats presently.

I'm about to put the boat forms up for sale. Someone can give me $50 or I'll enjoy roasting marshmallows over the damn things. I'm not building any more boats.

Finished up welding the bottom chines.

    Installed the trailer winch eyelet.

Welded closed the screw holes that were used for the wooden forms.

Ground flat, can't even tell they were even there.

Installed aft trim. Still need to find sand it.

Just about out or welding wire, gonna make a hot lap to harbor freight.

I have been saving for a while. I think I’m up to $48.26 and three wooden nickels.

It would be a pretty good deal, I have been wanting to build a small wooden river boat. I probably won’t have a chance until 2035.

My plans are for a wooden boat, I just switched to aluminum because I'm a welder, not a carpenter.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I've always told people: Give me a piece of wood, I'll throw it on the fire to keep the shop warm. Give me a piece of metal, I'll make you something.

    Hey Kirk,
Cleaning the garage I realized I’ve got 2 drift boat anchors I don’t need! Since you’re the only person I know building 2 boats at the same time, figured I’d see if you could use them. Free to a good home.

One’s a standard pyramid. The other is SS Chain on a ring. Both 30-35lbs I think. Chain is really good for plugging, or holding a sandy bottom like the Big Man, etc.

Let me know if you could put them to good use!

    Hello, team!

    Sorry about the radio silence.

Wife and I got hit with the flue last week. This was not a cold virus, this was the real deal. I felt exactly it felt when I had it 45 years ago.

Every joint aches for 5 days, head was swollen with sinus congestion that would not let up.

I had slight double vision for 3 days. That was worrying me. No cold virus ever did that to me.

But anyways, back to the projects, just not until I get around house shit caught up. You don't just lose 5 days, you lose 2 weeks when shit like this occurs.

Presently the wife and are only experiencing the expected bad caught and if course fatigue. Each day we feel much closer to normal.

As for those anchors, I'd be a fool to not take you up on that generous offer.

As I've stated, I'm keeping one of the boats peddling the second.

I like chain anchors, so that one will go on my boat and I'll send the pyramid unit with sold boat.

    That offer is much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Kirk
