That sucks. I hope all is well with your family, though. Priorities over pleasure.

Evening boys. I was thinking about making it out on the 3rd and stay overnight with my son. Got to be home Sunday night so my son can be back in school.
What are you all doing for camping situation, paid or free camping, buy ticket to events?? Not really sure as we are new to this. Can't really pass up the opportunity since I will be doing pilot rock truck trail in Saturday and figured I would just continue on to Johnson valley.

It is usually $20/person for a wristbad to access Hammer Town. That money goes to cover the costs it takes to put on this event.

Going out there on the 3rd would be very tame compared to if you were to go out there after the kid gets out of school on Friday the 9th and catch all the madness after the race and everything opens up.

For camping, I will be taking the toy hauler and hopefully my truck fits in it. I got a couple friends staying with me. It is dry camping out there, so you just pick a spot you like and claim your territory. I will be on the lakebed most likely.

As of now, my plan is to be there from Feb. 5-10, and most of my group will be getting there on Wed. the 7th. I am the only toy hauler in my group so far and would welcome anybody else who is like me and prefers to have multiple rv's/haulers and not be the only one. Or, anybody who is tenting it and also feels safer in a group and likes having a base camp.

I might have to change it up and come out Friday the 9th. I will see how my work turns out over the next couple of weeks. Been busy with the wind. Plus I need to get my rear bumper done. Fucking truck is all plastic :(

Heading out there on Friday would be fun. The earlier you can head out, the better.

It is about an hour and a half from Fontana for me, so add whatever it would take it would take you to get to Fontana. Plus, I am towing a 42' toy hauler, so I am only doing 55 max.

So you are gonna be camping on the lakebed about 5 miles from Hammer Town? Missing out on a lot of cool shit. Hopefully my truck is still going strong by Thursday. I will try and post my camp location when I get out there.

If @JaCado is fine with having his son miss school on Friday, I would also suggest going out on the 8th. That would be his call to make. I am not comfortable suggesting to a parent that he has his kid skip school for a day unless he is ok with it.

Getting out there late on Thursday is actually not a bad thing. Turkey claw, backdoor, chocolate thunder, all those spots can get wild that night and you would have all day Friday to check out the main race.
