I hate to post a new thread since there is probably already another thread out there regarding this specific situation, but here I go. (I did look for an open thread but didn't see one).

I recently bought some new Toyota front grill lettering that lights up. I bought them from KOK Auto Parts, out of CA I believe. I went through and followed all instructions, but after hooking it up to the fuse box on the fog light fuse, I can't seem to get the letters that light up to shut off when I turn my fog lights off, or when I shut my truck off completely. The lights stay on and wont shut off even after a few seconds. I also tried to hook the fuse from the wiring harness to the lo-head lamp because someone online stated that this worked for them, but the lights also remain on after shutting off the lights, or shutting the truck off completely. Does anyone have a recommended fix for this, or a known work around? I really like the letters that light up, but I don't want to keep them always on obviously, or have to unplug the fuse every time I drive my truck just to shut the letters off from staying lit up. Thanks in advance. Appreciate any and all input on this.

Your wiring is wrong. Take it apart and try again.

You installed it per the instructions, yet it isn't doing what's expected. Clearly you made a mistake. You gave us no other useful information to diagnose your problem.

Now now, don't get too sarcastic.
You CAN get sincere help from the folks here. However, too often folks seem to expect that we've all been looking over your shoulder as you did the work and should instantly know what you might have done wrong. Sometimes folks seeking help use acronyms (or part numbers) apparently assuming that everyone else knows exactly what they're referring to.
Better to provide too much information even though you may feel it's unnecessary.
    BTW, Welcome to TW.
While you may at times need to develop a thicker skin, there are members who can be a tremendous help.

In the video on their site they only show two wires. IF that's right, I assume the red is hot black ground.

So the red has to connect to a switched circuit. One that turns off when the circuit is switched off or the truck is shut off.

Make a temp connection of the red to the fog circuit and see if they don't go on and off with the fogs. Assuming that's what you expect to happen.

Then you'll need to find the right place for the permanent connection in that circuit.

Sounds like you wired the grill light to the hot side of the fog lamp switch. You need to wire to the cold side of the switch.

I wired mine to the ignition switch so the lights are on when the engine is on.

"Clearly I made a mistake?" Considering there are two wires, one red, that goes to the fuse box, and the black ground wire, I am pretty sure that I didn't "make a mistake." But again, super helpful. THANKS.

Yes, so I am sorry, I should have better explained this in my original post. There are two wires, one red that goes to the fuse box, that comes with a built in fuse, which goes to the fog lamp, and the black ground wire which I connected to the black ground wire for the battery terminal. I connected the red fuse to the fog lamp, and this is where the problem is. I also tried to connect the red wire, (fuse) to the low head lamp. This is also causing the same problem. Again, not too sure what else to do at this point. I can take pics and show them, but I feel that would be redundant considering that this is a fairly straight forward of an install.

Yes, you're absolutely right. I apologize for coming off strong. I may think that this is straight forward, but like you said, people aren't watching over my shoulder so I can assume too much. Again, my apologies.

maybe try reversing the wires? I wonder if the actual MFG wired them wrong,,, that's what it sounds like, if you do in fact have red positive and black ground.
I would test off the battery directly to lights to verify, so you don't accidently create other problems.
Unless any of you electrical gurus (I am not) think this is wrong?

Two wires, yes. You put one of them in the wrong place. That counts as a mistake.

If you didn't "make a mistake" your lights would probably work.

OK, OP has already apologized for initially coming across a little abrasive, so no need to keep beating him up for it. Let's try and help him get this thing working properly.

OP, do you have a multimeter or continuity meter?

Forget about fog lights fuse. It feeds fog light relay.
Which fuse did you select for lo-head? There is 15 amp and there are 2 10 amp for lh and rh

I attempted the 15 Low lamp. This didn't work either. I have checked the wiring and connections and it all appears to be correct. Not sure what else to do except splice it in directly to the Fog lamp light.
