So I took my truck to the dealership to do a timing belt change on my 2001 Tacoma and they turned out to be the worst mechanic shop I've been to in my life. I've never been to the dealership for work before, and I certainly wont be back. They broke the crankshaft timing gear and wanted me to pay and extra $270 to fix it. $100 for the part and $170 for the labor. They also broke the A/C bolt adjuster, I had to pay labor for that. They claimed rust, and while there is a little rust in the picture, not nearly enough to seize a bolt... Then on the invoice they put 2 water pump assemblies. Lastly, they tried to increase the labor for the job because the tech misquoted the hours it would take to do the job. All in all, a quote that was originally $1000 for parts and labor, turned into a $1700+ invoice that I had to argue back down to $1150, then with all the other missteps and parts they put it back up to $1600, and I once again had to argue it back down. Now I know why people call it the stealership.

That whole Koon's chain of dealers is a major cluster F. Even sales is sketchy.
