Krex and Bg motor oil additive

I inherited my uncles 2012 tacoma and have been going through his service records....What gets me at this major service he had done they added 2 different additives.....

Krex and bg oil additive......This was done at a toyota dealership.... They been adding that crap krex to every oil change hes had done since new.... Toyota must have a deal with that company

Kind of crazy they added 2 different kinds, when really I personally wouldnt add anything....Truck only has 50k miles now

But Krex is garbage. It is a graphite lubricant, meaning it's literally adding carbon deposits to your oil.

 

BG dealers are basically snake oil dealers. They push non-approved additives and early flushes as packages.

No hard will come from it, but I encourage everyone that visits these dealers to compare service schedules.

I worked at a Nissan and despised it. Also techs would simply not bother with some of the flushes and just say they did. You got a 25 token from every can to incentivize the tech.

I hate BG and BG products for their practices. The only things I liked of theirs was the ATF pre-cleaner, and the EFI cleaner.

 

I agree on the upsell crap and practices involved. I do really like BG products though. I've seen the flushes do wonders. Many low tension piston ring engines are so finicky and often get stuck with the slightest neglect?
