    Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone here gets Krown undercoating and notice any swelling of rubber parts on their 3rd gens?
I've heard it can cause swelling and was told today by a guy with a 2nd gen to spray silicone on any rubber before getting the application. I've tried to look for answers and I see some yes to rubber swelling but a lot swearing by it as a good solid product and no resulting issues.
Should I spray silicone? Should I just go for it? Should I try something else? lol It's pretty much my only route available here unless I go DIY.
Looking for some sort of consensus.

    Thanks!

Don't get it on your weatherstripping. It will swell. If you do, just wipe it off. Don't leave it.

I've never noticed any of my weather stripping swelling. I've had my truck sprayed every year so far and no problems....I take it and have it done at a place that does Krown applications. I also have NO rust on the frame

I had issues on my Venza with the front nose rubber where the release handle is. After getting it done with 50/50 oil spray for a few years it got really flimsy and was hanging out of the hood.Had to cut almost 2 inches to be able to put it back in place. Went to the dealer and asked why did happened and they told me oil spray does that.
I had my Taco done this year by Krown and they guaranteed me there would be no swelling, shrinking or any damage at all and if I did they would pay to repair. So I wait now.

Yes, the Krown will make weatherstrip and certain rubbers swell. I’ve only really noticed it happen on my windshield sprayer hoses under the hood. I spray the lower weatherstripping with silicone spray and then after I get it Krowned I use some spray nine to wipe off the silicone and any Krown overspray. My father has a second gen that has been krowned every year for ten years and all that’s noticeably swollen is a rubber strip under the hood, and the washer hoses a bit. Well worth it as there is no rust to be seen. His only complaint is it leaves streaks running under the door handles where it oozes out that you need to keep wiping off every week or two, lol.

Thanks I will be calling the Krown dealer today to see if they did spray silicone on the rubbers as they say that they do on their website.
