I showed my gf the puppy pics, she pretty much melted. We are trying to get a pup ourselves but we're currently renting our place right now and the landlord was fond of the dog idea. I can't wait to have a camp dog! Never had a dog :anonymous:

Question bout your last trip as I'm bout to head out of state myself. What'd you do for firewood? Did you bring some from home or did you buy at local spots?

Dude a puppy is a handful and a half but....... so great to have. I have always had dogs and they are be best camping companion you can have. I could talk forever about em but you just have to experience it. If you have never had a dog i would recommend adopting a full grown dog. Puppies are great but.....kind of a pain in the ass. There are tons of great dogs in shelters and such looking for a home. I would also recommend picking up a dog obedience book of some sort. They are super helpful. Most of it is common sense easy stuff but could make the difference. But you seem like the prime candidate for a dog. They love camping and learning and pleasing and would love a good home.

Now about fire wood..... I brought some with me and restocked as i came across it. This kept me from having to seek out fire wood.

Congrats Spencer! Now I wont be the only one whoring out my dog! My shepherd is with me 24/7 and wouldn't have it any other way.

On another note - don't bring firewood with you. Unless you're going about 10 miles from where you got it. What I do, depending on where you go, I look for signs that say "firewood" on back roads. Usually someone with a sign on the side of the road/yard selling it out of an old pickup or something. That or I just ask in a nearby town. I wont go on a meaningless rant about moving firewood, but its bad mmkay.

Beautiful dog man!!! I had a shepherd before i got my new pup. Do you bring him/her to work with you as well? I have a shell and have been trying to figure how i could literally bring her with me everywhere.

Also.... noted on the firewood. Didnt reolize that that was a bad thing........ :anonymous: Is this the case even if i plan to use all of it everytime?

Yeah he goes to work. He was bred for MWD or police work so he is a handful to say the least. I work outside so he gets to tag along most of the time. When he can't, we have kennels/dog run at work or I stick him with a coworker at a desk.

The firewood thing is a huge pain in the ass but I'm an ecologist so gotta practice what I preach. In some states its against the law to move wood, but regardless of legality it's not a good practice. It is one of main venues for moving pests/invasives around. Without hijacking your thread I'll just put a quick googled link below.

I'll be selling my 887's in a few weeks. 887's, trim packer, OME nitros all around. Lemme know if you're in the market.

@ragincajun35 your pup is super cute!

Chux did you attach that right to the front bed rail? And this is a sweet build looking to do almost the same set up for my taco you've been a great help to letting the wife le me pull the trigger on a new ARE MX with in Winndoor and the HC CBI rear bumper hopefully in the future I can get the swing gate but I'm going to try and mount it in the bed for now. Hope to see some more camping photos the SE looks way different then up here in the PNW
