Kudos to Toyota for Still Offering 6 speed MT

Just purchased a 23 TRD Sport 4x4 w/6 speed MT. Very satisfied with the vehicle. Originally ordered a 23 Jeep Gladiator w/6 speed MT, but the Jeep was never built due to an ongoing unresolved clutch pressure plate design flaw.

the JL clutch issue is insane. Can't believe Jeep is skirting the fix by doing a software de-tune instead of a mechanical changeout. It's a shame - I doubt the next gen Wrangler offers a stick.

wow that's F'd! I have been out of the loop on Jeeps for years, and didn't know there was such an issue. Doesn't surprise me, Chrysler shit.

 

The jeep manual is also a heaping pile of garbage as far as gearing. 6th is unusable and 5th is too tall 1/2 the time also..

Yeah it’s a big miss on Jeep’s part. Can you imagine the beating they’ll take in the press if they drop the MT?

Welcome, just remember when anyone asks what you drive you start with the 6 speed manual, then tell them it's a Tacoma. It is written in the bylaws of Taco 3 pedal ownership.

I drove manuals most of my life - if I wasn't 65+ I'd have opted for it again - it's a heck of a theft deterrent and NOBODY want's to 'borrow'
your ride because they can't deal. It's a win-win for sure.
