Tacoma build number 2! My 2003 trd off road was still in her prime at the young age of 225,000 miles...but it was time for me to move on. Lots of blood sweat and tears went into that build...and $, lots of $. I bought the truck stock in 2011 for $12,000 with 125,000 miles on it. Sold it last October for $13,500 with 100,000 more miles on it. I stepped up to the turd gen a few weeks later. 2016 TRD OR premium & tech package with jbl. Told myself it was going to stay stock for awhile but we all know how that goes. Took me all of a couple months before I found myself in the garage installing mid travel and grinding off cab mounts. So here we are again...beginning stages of a build. Lets see where this one goes!

Put some miles in today. 2 counties and 4 rivers. Down the trinity river, up the klamath river, then up the salmon river to Sawyers Bar and Etna, then scott river back to the klamath-trinity, lol. Full day playing in the backyard! Truck rode awesome, pulled off 18 mpg too.

Yeah unfortunately :( . Miss that truck every day! Even worse I sold it locally so I would see it driving around all the time. This third gen has some big shoes to fill.

Drove to the coast via redwoods park. Suspension still amazes me. The road across the mountain is gnarly, I'd brace for bumps and wouldn't even feel them. I was able to drive comfortably at 45-50mph and the suspension was asking for more. These Cooper's kept me stuck to the road and kicked ass in the mud. Super happy with my decisions so far. Removed my sway bar finally. Much better ride off-road. Body roll is hardly noticeable, a lot different than when I took the sway bar off my first gen. Took a cruise up to a local fs lookout tower to test the ride. Was a little sketchy up top, lol.

Truck looks amazing. How high is it sitting after the mods? I'm considering doing the same mods just not sure which suspension to go with. I'd be happy with a 2 inch lift. I'm guessing Kings, Icon or Fox. I'm not sure which are best. Any feed back would be appreciated. Good luck with the truck

I adjusted the driver side coilover 3 full turns, and passenger side 2 full turns. I'd guess I'm at about 1"-1.5" over stock. Can't go wrong with any of the options you listed. All about preference, plenty of opinions here on the forums if you do some searching.

Installed an AFE filter. Also ordered a "TRD intake accelerator"...for $30 why not? And getting my magnaflow muffler welded in on Tuesday . Small mods to hold me over until I bite the bullet on some sliders.

I'm currently trying to get a buyer lined up for my wheels/tires. I really want to get ahold of some SCS wheels and some 305 or 295 km2's.

Anyways, Here's some more recent pics of the truck.

New wheels and tires are on. 33x12.50 Falken Wildpeak MT's. Have to re do my cmc tomorrow, rubbing pretty bad. And America's tire scratched my wheels so have to see how they can make it right.

Had more of my cab mount cut off and got the plate welded back in. Still a little rub at full lock, will take care of it next week when I get off shift. Love the new wheels and tires. These falkens are meaty as fug, but heavy!

New setup looks good. Those tires look wide. How far do they stick out?
