Nice. I went and checked out your build thread, I'm jealous of your fuse setup. Its on my list of thing to do. Truck looks badass!

Hey, I see you had a wireless Warn controller but says 'failed and removed' what happened? Do they suck?

...well you see this is why you can't trust everything you read on the internet.

The Story: So I went offroading and finely needed my winch to pull someone out that had got wedged next to a tree. I tuned on the winch controller and hit the button and got nothing. Unplugged the wireless remote and plugged in the the handheld one...Still nothing checked the leads and they appeared to have a good connection...still nothing. I ended up using my winch as a tow strap (I know I shouldn't have), but I needed to use the snatch block to get the right angle. Anyway I got him out, got home and started looking around.

It turns out I had two leads on the winch were a little loose, which was enough to make the winch not fire. However, I stupidly didn't test the wireless remote after I figured out that it was both leads. I had already taken it out of my truck at this point and placed partial blame on the wireless remote.

Good news is I sent it to warn and of course it was fine, but they decided to keep the old one and upgrade me to their smaller new one anyway. I was really impressed with the customer service and politeness of everyone at the company.

I need to go update my build thread. It actually is a pretty great product and would recommend it. From now one I will check all three leads before I go wheeling. Rookie mistake I guess.

Haha, good to know. I'm planning on purchasing one and wanted to make sure it wouldn't shit the bed. Thanks for the feedback!

I cut it down and re-capped the cut for him, touched it up with spray paint.

And some pics. One has the flare but you can see the angle difference of the bumper.

A very long time :( Before we went and picked it up the GF gave me this look and said "you're not cutting up the 4runner" which made me laugh. So I think the only things I'm going to do to it are tint and some weathertechs. Other than that this thing is staying a stocker.

Funny thing is, a couple weeks ago we were in Portland and we saw a new runner that was super badass. Plate bumpers, sliders, lift, 285s and she was all into it. Go figure.

And here is a better pic of the new ride. We match now, not sure if super awesome or rainbows. Probably both.

An armored 5th gen would be sick.... :D

    Edit...
Just realized, this is kinda interesting the guys have a Tacoma and GF/Wifey drives a T4R. Me and my GF, Jason and his wife, nathan and his wife, and now you and you GF too. Ha :headbang:

The fifth gens are super capable. We have a trail edition for little over a year now and I'm still trying to figure out the traction control and crawler.
