Damn Matt, sounds almost like the problem I had upon getting home from ECGS after my regear.... my front diff was leaking due to half the bolts being finger tight. Good to hear it was only a bolt in your case and not the seal tho!

Well I didn't get off that easy. Checked last night and I still have a small leak, definitely not as bad as it was but still there :( I'm going to continue to monitor over the next few weeks and then make the call on tearing it down again and resealing. I'm also doing my 30k maintenance in a couple weeks so I guess that would be a good time since I'll have the fluid out of it.

Damn. Sorry about the leak man.

Question, I'm about to ditch the sway. How bad is the "roll," coming off the freeway, quick turns and such? Anything that would have me reconsider? Or just ditch it.
    Thanks Matt.

it's a truck, not a sports car. if you notice a huge roll, slow down. but if you're thinking about taking it off, you must go off-road. and if you go off-road, ditch the sway bar.

^^ What they said, ditch it for off road. And to be honest I rarely notice the rolling, the only time I notice it for sure is going through the roundabout at the bottom of kietzke and its not bad. Makes me feel like I'm in a lifted truck, which I am, which I want. I drive like a granny most the time anyway...

Edit: just remember if something jumps out in front of you, gun it and stay the course, don't swerve :)

what they said. I havent run a sway bar on either of my trucks for over 5 years. And now even on my GFs 4th gen Runner on 35's, pulled BOTH of the sway bars from that thing and she's fine with driving it that way too.

And to the last part, thats where adding a bumper will help out too. :p

    Damn, sorry dude!

I'm pretty confident that flange is not leaking at the pinion! I know I set that in there right.

Hose her down good with lots of brake clean.

Yeah, its not the flange, all that looks good. As you read the actuator was loose which is my fault for not re-tightening a couple days after we did the swap. After I tightened that there is barely anything leaking and I need to go back and make sure all the bolts around the diff are still solid.

and I did blast it with the cleaner :p

I'm going to dick with it tonight and see if anything is loose. I'll  if there is

Hey Matt, do you notice your mtr's flat spotting and riding rough for the first 5-10 minutes in the morning? Mine seem to be rough and shaky every morning, but by the end of the day of driving around they run smooth hence why I believe it's flat spotting from being parked over night.
Just an observation since I've got the mtr's now for a few days and wondering if anyone else experiences it

Weird, I was thinking i'd have heard about it if other people were having the same issue. When I first got them, they were definitely out of balance (I watched them balance them and a couple took as much as 9.25oz to balance the least being 6.5oz. seemed like a pile of stick on weights!) so I went back 2 days later and had them rebalance. Now they're much better, no more steering shake, but the whole back of the truck still bounces/wiggles in the morning until I drive a little and then they're much smoother. So that tells me they're balanced now, but probably flat-spotting over night. I've got them at 28psi which by driving in and out of my dusty shop and seeing contact patch, they're a bit on the high side on PSI as only 1/2 of the outer lugs are even contacting so I'm definitely not running too low of PSI either.
Oh well, guess I'll run them a few more weeks and air down/wheel with them and see if they break in and smooth out.

I'm not having that issue either Eric. I am running higher PSI than 28, think I'm in the low-mid 30s now. I actually have no complaints with them so far, I'm sure that'll change when I'm driving in winter conditions.
