It's an endless pit of money and time.
Greetings, we are installing our new Hard-Use Roof Rack and Bed Rack on our Ambassador, Monte's Tacoma.

Our old system was designed off heavy 8020 T-Slot extrusions with extensive milling pushed the cost way up. With many using 8020 as it's a great platform, it was not the answer or proprietary in any way. So we stopped production and started designing products that are proprietary to LabRak with patents pending.

We started 19 months ago designing a complete new roof rack design. Using the latest CAD and FEA software. We were able to test strength and along with 3d printing, we designed and tested until we came up with something special.

Features and options that leaps ahead with the current market. Being from a Military and LE family, with strong disciplines in shooting and the love of the outdoors. We designed a platform and mounting solution with hard-use in mind. Designed for the adventurer and built for the First Responder. You are able to assemble, configure and set-up your system for your adventure or mission.

Our proprietary extrusion designs are built from aircraft grade 6061T6 alloy, extruded in Portland, Oregon. 100% made in Oregon and 100% U.S. Sourced parts. Powder coated in Sherman Williams MIL Spec powder with the highest UV rating available.

The perimeter has T-slots on top, face and bottom. Allowing a plethora of accessories to be mounted securely and safely. The xSlats have 2 T-slots on the top and 3 on the bottom allowing all you mounting accessory desires.

Our new BedRak mounts are very complex, overbuilt with many options. Rigid flush mount lighting is shown in the lower quadrant. The mid quadrant housing a Rigid Dually for directional lighting. Cut outs for cable ties for wiring management. Compatible with Thule, Inno, Rhino and Yakima load bars. Optional Antenna mount that positions the mast inside the mount and away from interference. Direct bolt on to Tacoma bed rail tracks. The bracket has two tie down points for Shock-Straps, tie downs or used for lashing points.

    The list.

    LabRak Hard-Use Roof Rack
    LabRak Hard-Use Bed Rack
    Light bar
    Thule Bike mounts
    Thule Kayak mounts
    LabRak Fishing rod tube
LabRak mounts for Fly rod case w/reel

LabRak Shovel Mount w/ Fiskars shovel

Looked for the reviews on ih8mud. Didn't find them. Perhaps if it's not too much trouble, you could post a link so we can have some more info.

They (LabRak) owe us over $3300 now for 6 months. No product. No updates. Nothing. They have also kept money from a few other folks for months and have not given them anything as well. They have deleted all of the customers comments and now shut us down from their IG page and facebook. We will never recommend them. This is not the only time this has happened. We are taking them to court. He wanted this and asked for it. We are very forgiving but he does not give a sh-t!

He has also taken a tent and awning we let them use for photo shots and sold it with his land cruiser.

    Do Not Use Them!

There are also tons of threads where this is happening to a lot of folks.

I have owned many Tacomas, but recently switched to 4runners (I have kids now). I bought a new 4Runner from Toyota of Bend and it had a LabRak on the roof. I figured it was cool as I could finance the rack and it was supposedly made locally. But holy SH!T this rack sucks! First off, it can barly hold 100 pounds before the crossbeams start to warp. The powder coating is chipping like crazy. It is louder then all get out. And the worst part, this Shane guy! Sent numerous emails and heard nothing. Went to where the racks are supposedly made and Shane isn't there it is a sporting goods store and a Veichel Tent showroom. They all know Shane, but claim he might be in by three as normal, never shows. Then he wouldn't do anything about the rack. Then I learnt hat the warranty of my new 4Runner was voided as he drills holes into the top of the car. So as it is a non manufacture part, Toyota won't cover any damages. I am at the point I might try and scrap the damn thing so no one else has to suffer from this over priced piece of crap.

First it should be covered as the Toyota dealership did it. If you bought it from them they are responsible for the warranty.
Plus labrak sucks any way. We had a rack on and it made too much noise and dented the cab of our truck because it moved so much and they installed it.
