The track system has been around forever, all 2nd an 3rd gens have it. Your options are going to be limited by your wallet. There are a couple of options cheaper on Amazon like the Rola rack, but your not going to find much for cheaper than $500. You can also look up places like Rerack.com or craigslist. I've been looking at the rack/tonneau cover combos for my 2020, but they all add up to almost $3k.

First Toyota. Don't know what the track is connected to,will hold down two large kayaks and rack at 75 80 mph. Seems like inner bed is all plastic. Someone tell me yea I do 80 mph with eight ladders on top I might feel a little more comfrotable flying down the highway.

I have the Yakima Overhaul HD and carry my canoes on it. Quick release with a couple turns of an Allen wrench, the bases stay on the truck. I've had about 150 pounds on mine and it seemed solid as a rock.

Only negative I found, is it's a little fiddly to adjust the height. Because of the angled uprights you have to loosen the bolts on the crossbars and the uprights to slide them up and down. But, I never needed to adjust the height and I think the angled uprights are more stable and look a lot better than the other options.

Where you at? I bought one a bit ago and find I don't need it. I got one that was made to use "J" bolts and go under a bed lip. Our trucks don't have the lip so had a buddy of mine that is a fabricator modify the "J" hooks to work with the track and it looks factory and works perfect. I'd let you have mine for a bunch less then $500.

    Get the Rola haul-your-might T3

I've had kayaks up there for tons of miles no issue:IMG_0455.jpg

Also had 1000lbs of lumber up top, took it easy but no issues:IMG_20181116_084641.jpg

It's not height adjustable but it's easy to put on/take off once assembled, sturdy and a great price compared to some of the other options.

Ever thought about going this route? My yak is nearly 13’ and I have no issues with this set up. You can stack them up if you have 2. I have 3 and can make it work easily.

The bed rails are attached through the composite bed and into the steel frame. They are very strong. Most rack systems also split the load with the top of the bed too. None of them will go flying off at speed.

the Rola T3 Haul-Your-Might is probably the best bang for your buck from a reputable manufacturer. It's light weight, so it's easy to take on/off; but it's sturdy as hell. i used it to haul paddleboards until i switched to a Yakima Overhaul HD because i needed a tonneau cover. My only complaint was that it sat pretty high.

It’s perfectly fine really. Especially if you fish alone sometimes. Try lifting a real fishing kayak up on top of the truck. The T-bar is super easy to use and no chance of mishaps. The flag is to show other drivers in case they are texting or complete idiots. Lol.

Also, people carry building supplies etc. all the time in truck beds that stick out past the tailgate.

OP - I don't know how long the kayaks are that you plan on hauling. But a good option for shorter ones (say 10' or less....but certainly not limited to those lengths) is a roof mounted rack.

Primary reason we got a Prinsu was for carrying the canoe. It also helps that it looks awesome the rest of the time..

    Stuff, things, this, an ADS
Thule xporter for the bed and Thule cab rack for over the cab. I had that set up for my kayaks, surfboards and paddle boards and it worked great.

Be careful with some of the cheaper ones on Amazon. I have one and it is very sturdy. I taken long highway trips with 2 kayaks (10' & 12') with no issues whatsoever. However, while the thing is easy to put on and take off, it really doesn't seem made to do so safely. Every time I do so, I find aluminum shavings from the rail attachments. Luckily, there are spare rail parts with the one I bought. I can't fit the truck in my garage with the rack and would remove it during the summer months whenever I knew I wouldn't be kayaking and wanted my truck in the garage (like when gone for a couple weeks of work trips).

I'll be selling mine stupid cheap soon and getting the Yakima.
