LADDER RACK FOR KAYAKS

Two 10' kayaks and one 14' on roofrack and RTT/Bedrack

 

I use the Thule TracOne ladder rack its capable of carrying 800lbs. I’ve hauled lumber, extension ladders, and mountain bikes with it. Last year I went from Southern Oregon to Tahoe and back with a kayak, no issues.

Any pics of your mounting setup?

 

I second this, and not just because mine is for sale. I have a lot of highway miles with the kayaks and a couple days around Jackson, WY with a 17ft canoe and no problems. I'm only getting of them because I got a roof rack

Why not? You afraid someone’s gonna try and swipe the yak while you are ordering a 1/4 pounder? Lol! I can’t think of a reason you can’t go get fast food. I’ve taken it every where including pretty decent drop offs etc. You just gotta be mindful of the length (that’s what she said) !

 

tight turns , the kayak might swipe other vehicles if 2 lanes are turning

 

Yeah I think that could potentially happen, but I never had any issues with mine and I really like the added security and tie downs.
