OP started this made up thread IMO seven days ago and is no closer to a resolution than he was then. Anytime he comes up against some antipathy he walks around it.

If the op would have contacted USPS on the first day we wouldn’t be on post 182. He would have it all figured out by now

Why would you think it’s made up? Just because he won’t do what you ask? OP is not obligated to post anything. Who are you to declare this is a fake post?

IMHO And maybe this is just age talking. When you post an issue on a forum, and most of the folks disagree with your stance, maybe you should reconsider your stance and take the advice given. It's his choice obviously but....

That's kinda where i'm at. Not sure why OP didn't do that as step 1 on the road to getting this situation resloved. Posted this thread probably took more effort than a simple phone call would have. But to each their own I guess.

If you order something from Amazon and the package does not arrive. Who do you contact?

I guess that depends. If the tracking says it's still in route but stuck then I would wait it out. I've had some issues with USPS over the years and I know things happen. I guess patience is key here.

The reality here in the real world is you contact Amazon and the burden is on them to make it right. The majority in this thread in my opinion are taking an extreme stance because of the love this place seems to have for the vendor. I ship an average of $50k worth of product a day. If I choose the shipper and the customer is paying me with a markup might I add then the burden is on me to get the product to the customers door. If something happens between my dock and the shippers door it is my problem. If the carrier makes the mistake then I have the ability to make a claim with them but to expect the burden to be on the customer is absolutely ridiculous. A package sitting in one location in excess of a week is considered lost. MESO should reship or refund the customer and address the loss with the carrier he employed. Anything less is unacceptable. Period.

I don't disagree that the liability falls on the seller. I've had things lost on Ebay sales over the years and I always refund the customer. Speaking from a private seller only, I feel like the purchaser has some skin in the game as well and should be patient when things go wrong. I've had a couple of folks that I refunded when things are "Lost" in shipping and then ghost me after I did a refund and the item shows up. I also agree that Meso could have handled it better but I also think the OP could have handled it better as well. Again, I am not a company nor ship a lot if items on a regular basis.

You are not wrong. And in this case that is an issue. MESO is not a large operation and I am sure losing product if it does happen to arrive would suck. Also, it is extremely difficult to break even when trying to be reimbursed by a carrier. I lose money due to freight damage every week. That is the cost of business as they say. All parties involved could have handled this better.
My point in all of this is that the OP has a right to be frustrated. He has the option to go above and beyond if he chooses but that should not be the expectation. It is his right to get the product and service he paid for. And at the end of the day he paid for expedited shipping. He has not received the product or the service but he did not sub contract the carrier. MESO did, and thus this issue is an extension of what he paid to have done and that sub contractor has failed MESO. Still Meso’s problem.
If you hire a plumber and he brings in a 3rd party electrician to do an aspect of the job and that sub contractor fails. You don’t go after the sub contractor. You resolve it with the contractor you have a contract with. No difference here.

Methinks you underestimate TW with your "we wouldn't be on post 182" assertion.

More than that if you count apocrypha. Some of my excellent early participation posts got disappeared (sorry for the hassle, Mods! But I still want to know what his wife ordered).

This thread, based on the original post, is supposed to make public a grievance: 1. for the good of alerting people to the experience, 2. to help spur the vendor toward a solution, 3. to vent, or 4. regarding something mysterious and that ‘defy my powers of description.’

I guess OP is displeased because many are giving a silently unwanted answer 5., which is “to elicit and possibly accept other perspectives.”

Interesting situation and replies here. FWIW, we ship thousands of products to our customers every year, and use USPS for 99% of the shipments.

We've had our share of "stuck in transit purgatory" packages - a package would arrive to a USPS facility and sit there. Or I'd see shipment bounce around numerous distribution, sorting, and processing facilities, sometimes going back to the same ones several times. USPS works in mysterious ways. It was particularly bad during covid. Or when USPS introduced their "Ground Advantage" system - I sent out 20 packages the next day, and not a single one showed up in tracking for several weeks, so I had to send replacements for all of them. Fun.

I keep track of all our shipments, and make it a point to reach out to a customer if I see their shipment stuck in transit. 90% of the time the customers are understanding and are willing to wait a few more days. Every once in a while when someone does not want to wait, I send them a replacement package, and ask them to return the original item when they receive it. Most folks actually do that, which gives me hope for humanity.

I agree that Meso cannot do anything to get the package moving once it's out of their hands and stuck in transit. USPS is a black hole, and there is no getting a hold of anyone who can actually help (BTDT). At best, when you call the 800 number and get a hold of someone, they will give you their standard line - "we cannot tell you anything beyond what the tracking info shows".

Of course I am not privy to the conversation between the OP and Meso, but my first thought is that ghosting someone is never a class act, be it by a vendor or anyone else. But perhaps I'm too old school, ghosting is much more widespread these days than in the "good old days".

FWIW, USPS has a claim process where the shipper can ask for a insurance payout if a package has been "in transit" for more than 15 days. I know that's a long time to wait, but at least it's not an open ended period. Hopefully Meso will file the claim when the 15 days comes. USPS usually pays out on those types of claims.

Holy shit! Actual logic and reality. Kudos to you sir!
90% of the people in this thread swear you call USPS and Bill runs out back to find your package. lol…

There were a couple that came off like that to me but I feel like for the most part people were just reacting to OPs staunch refusal to contact usps at all when that is the obvious first step imo. Could be wrong though

I think another part of this puzzle is when you have a captive audience, in this case Meso does things that nobody else does. They don't have to worry about "bad reviews on yelp" (or TW) for example. And because humans, they don't necessarily have a fire under the seat to do things as quick, or perhaps at all, that other companies would feel pressured to do. At least something to think about...

EDIT: also, love my Spiker hood struts!

You are 100% correct. OP loses most people with his stubborn refusal to do even the most thing like making a simple phone call to USPS before coming here and posting a thread. I get that he is frustrated, but dude's not doing himself any favors imo.
