TW is always quick to defend its prized vendors, and rightfully so - vendors don't become widely valued just by existing or having a good product. TW is one of the nastiest places, there is; we're critical, we have keyboards, and we sometimes use CAPS LOCK. When you make a post that is critical of a highly supported vendor, TW jumps in to defend, and they shut you down quick.

Is it warranted? Usually, honestly. Usually someone is just complaining because they don't have a grasp on how the world (businesses) really work.

Is it warranted here? Maybe; maybe not. From the story you've given, it sounds like the vendor acted quickly and got the product fulfilled and dropped off with USPS to be delivered, ultimately encountering a snag and not showing up in the expected timeline you paid for. Is it the vendors fault? No. Should the vendor be held responsible? Partly.

OP, I actually agree with your frustrations (to an extent). If you pay for a product and expedited shipping, you expect to get the product within that timeline. If the product gets delayed, even by the shipping company, its only reasonable to either ask for a refund/cancellation of order completely, or at the very least refund the price of expedited shipping. Just because the delay occurred with USPS doesn't mean the vendor didn't sell a service (expedited shipping) to the customer. Vendors have contracts/pay shipping companies money to meet these expectations. When they don't, that shouldn't fall on the customer to try and resolve. Vendors should be just as upset as the customer when fulfillments are delayed, because both the vendor and customer are paying for a service they're not receiving.

But back to reality, considering the vendor is allegedly a one-man show, I wouldn't expect Amazon-like customer service. I'd expect communication to be completely non-existent, extremely delayed, and to eventually receive the product late by the time the vendor got back with me. If I were unhappy with waiting, I'd contact USPS, get an update, and make the decision on cancelling the order (either via the vendor or with my CC company).

It’s the shipper’s responsibility to make sure that the package gets delivered. If you actually bother to call USPS they will only give limited information to the recipient. The shipper needs to follow up and get it addressed.

The OP is the end user but, the client customer with the "contract" to the shipper is Meso. USPS could look into it for the OP but, it will go faster if the person that ships the item contacts them. You know when you pay for tracking, or insurance and it costs extra to send things to others... That is for the shipper, not the person receiving it. Meso, needs to look into this. The OP could contact usps but, if he demands something be done, the shipper (USPS in this case) will tell him to contact the sender. Ski

Thanks. Had to get some sleep and stop wasting time on the internet at some point I guess. Hopefully USPS finds your package on the floor next to the sorting machine (literally the explanation I was given from the post master at the location my package went missing) and gets it moving your way.

Shouldn’t the vendor be responsible for dealing with the carrier? I paid the vendor a shipping fee which is usually inflated so why should I be the one to file a claim, make calls etc.? I’ve had stuff arrive late or got lost or damaged and the vendor took care of it. I’m not referring to Meso specifically here just sellers in general

Do you honestly think if MESO calls USPS the outcome will be any different?? USPS doesn't know their elbow from their own asshole

I'm not at all a MESO fanboy, but this is a USPS issue

In the future don't pay for fast shipping, pay for any shipping that's not USPS. /thread

Sure Meso could've dropped a dime with USPS. After reading the OP, I can imagine how the call with Meso went. Any guesses why he's ghosted? Vendors on TW don't tend to be vendors on TW for very long by ghosting customers.

The customer isn't always right, sometimes the customer is an a$$hole. Reading the OP's responses makes me wonder if this is the case.

Businesses don't remain in business by re-shipping product every time a shipper screws up. OP, my recommendation would be to apologize to Meso for the poor communication and ask if there is anything they can do from their end.

One last thing...USPS tracking can be an absolute joke. For reference: I dropped a package at the post office yesterday. I watched the Postmaster scan the package into the system. 24 hrs later, that package tracks as 'label created, not in system'.

As someone that buys and sells a lot online, I am with the OP 100%. Sure you can blame USPS, but this really goes back to the shipper. The post office sucks. If you choose to run your expedited shipping through those idiots, you risk results just like this. I would never offer expedited shipping and use USPS. The reason that Meso does this is because it is cheaper. I guarantee you that if you offered expedited shipping to your customers and told them that it would be through USPS, you would never get anyone to pony up the extra money. It's pretty simple business sense. If you want to charge more for shipping, you need to go with a vendor that is more reliable. Using the mindset that because USPS works most of the time is ridiculous because you know damn well that they are never ever as reliable as UPS or FedEx. Those two while not perfect are a whole lot more reliable.

In this case Meso should step up and agree that they went cheap in shipping to save a buck and make this right for the OP.

Its clear when you look at the shipping options that its through USPS. Also..I would choose USPS over FedEx ANY DAY.

I think the consensus is clear that after being 2 weeks of waiting, Meso should be doing something now.
