I depend on the govt to screw me, that's it. And they don't even have the decency to buy me dinner first and pull my hair!

With 16 yrs in the field I can write a tome on how messed up Obamacare is..

That is a nonpartisan view. I believe when govt gets into something it isn't familiar with, it won't end well.

Basically, to truly have healthcare reform we need all components of the system reformed..not just one.

First house we bought - paid $69k for it and if we had gone the 30 yrs, it would have been 219K  It's been a few years, so I might be a little off, but the numbers are in the ball park....

Saved up during my career for a house, only to have the price triple on me since the Austin growth explosion. So we rented a CHEAP trailer for two years while I worked overtime and we banked another $150K. Still had to finance, but once my employment situation stabilized after retirement we paid off the balance. Felt soooooooo good.

Still...every week we get mail offering to help us refinance our loan. I can't throw it away fast enough!

Sounds about right. 30 yrs with interest is usually somewhere around 3 X the price of the house.

I'm in the same boat. Pun intended. I have drip rings but the hell if the actually work right...

I get the cold drips across my legs too.

The H2No fabric from Patagonia is fantastic. It actually rivals Gore on waterproofness. (But lacks the same vapor transfer qualities.)
If you get a wet bottom, you may actually get some moisture through the H2No fabric. Same for kneeling. It has a lower PSI rating than Gore, but it is higher than most others on the market.

I have a pair of TorrentShell pants and carry them in the high country.

When I worked midnights (for 14 years, by choice) it was the only thing I had in rural Florida. Can't tell you how many meals I either had to walk away from or leave before I even got them ...
while not the best food by far, for 2 am it works!

It's not terrible food, but do y'all got a Bob Evan's? Used to be a great place to get breakfast anytime back when I lived where they were at.

Nope, small town. Denny's was the only chain sit down we had left. We do have a number of good family owned restaurants, and good selection of fast food because of the Six Flags.
