With the way I eat, I should be 300lbs by now lol. I guess I'll still be skinny when I'm old.

Best way to put on some good solid pounds = Squats

Men should be able to squat their body weight for a minimum of 12 repetitions.

Start off using half your body weight, do a full squat, and try to do 3 sets of 12 twice a week.

Also bench presses are a great way to add muscle and solid weight. Same as squats, men should be able to do 12 reps using however much they weigh. Again, 3 sets of 12 reps twice a week.

So that's a four day a week workout that shouldn't take you more than 20 minutes. Rest no msore than one minute in between sets.

Throw in some ab work, like crunches and planks with each workout, as well as push-ups. 20 minutes a day/4 times a week and in as little as on month you should visibly see a difference in the mirror.

These basic exercises will make you eat more, so try to eat more clean protein. I always have a couple protein drinks everyday. Eggs, chicken, fish, lean beef are all excellent.

Avoid the junk stuff as much as possible. I do one cheat day every week! But to be honest I really don't care much for junk food.

    No bear or beer.

I'm pretty lean so come winter time I bring up my body fat incase I get a bug/cold/flew. Need that extra fat just incase.

Someone around me seems to be sick all the time during the winter months. Sneezing/coughing and anytime people get sick they don't eat cause they feel like crap.

    I can't afford to miss a meal.

I was starting to workout, but didn't have the time. I was doing squats with an extra 50lbs of weight. My reps were kind of inconsistent because my knees aren't always up for it lol.

    Didn't have the time???

    Can't find/make time for 20 minutes 4 X a week? Really?

Consistency is the key for success.

50 pounds over your body weight is really good. I'd recommend wrapping your knees if/when doing more than your body weight.

Always start with five minutes of stretching/warmup exercises like deep knee bends and jumping jacks! Plus flexing all the different muscle groups helps.

Well the routine I was doing was about an hour. But lately I can't find a solid hour to do it.

Same with my knees. I do 60-70 pounds on my bar, squat and curl. Not much but have to be careful

Streamline it, or split it into two days, half hour each day!

You can buy knee wraps just about anywhere Walmart/Target

As you likely know, it all comes down to choice. It's the fundamental aspect I bring up to anyone that talks to me about fitness, or being healthy. It's not about time. It's not about ability. It's not about any of those things. We choose our lives, and we choose our path.
I make the choice to live a lifestyle that allows me to do the things I want to do. I get to play all my sports, and have all my fun, because I make the choice to eat right, and move my body.
Those that choose to do other things - like eat whatever they want, and not train their bodies - get the result that comes with that. Whether they look in the mirror, and are unhappy with what they see. Or they cannot participate in activities that require a certain level of fitness. It's the result of their choice.
Most of my life I chose the path of least resistance. And it came with a result. I was well over 300 pounds - and had very little ability to do any physical activity. But then a light finally came on - and a realization of "choice" came to me. And since then......nothing has been the same. That was 7 years ago. At 47, I maintain my weight around 200 pounds - I play sports regularly - I've participated in countless endurance races (from Spartans and Marathons, to a full Ironman in 2015). Because of the choices I make, on a daily basis, I get to 'play'. And that only solidifies those choices!!

    Right on and congrats!

Losing 100 pounds plus is very impressive. You definitely made the right choice.

    Thanks......I think

    Hahahaha

Takes leg strength but also, or mostly, your body core strength.

Squats are great for the core/abs

265 is my "crazy" max since I'm only 112-115 tops

Plenty of warm ups first, I like to increase each set with 50 lbs increments until I max out at 265

    Gets the heart rate Pounding!
