We all (people who got let go) saw this coming on day but when the v.p. of operations is walking around saying we're strong and their is nothing to worry about...f-that dude and his 7 hundred thousand dollar a year wage. This place can eat shat. 5 years of doing lighting/electrical design out the window. so a big thanks for letting me go, there must be a bigger plan for me....somewhere(?).

I hear ya man, it sucks. Not much of a warnng either. It's really hard to take when it comes from someone making big money. Sorry to hear about this, and hopefully you'll find whatever the "bigger plan" is. Good luck, and vent here anytime, I do.

Here's some advice from someone ( me) who went through this 4 years ago: Take a few weeks off and ENJOY yourself. Seriously- when I was laid off, I had the best time. Went on a few trips, got stuff done at the house. Took me 2 months to find another job. Good luck!

i feel for you man. Ever since gas dropped to under 5 bucks and oil dropped below 50 bucks, there's been lots of people fearful for their jobs here. My friends in engineering that haven't been laid off yet are one project cancellation away from not only being out of work, but unable to find more.

I wish the worst was over, but i don't see things turning back around till this time next year.

    Good luck to you.

Same thing happened to me I got laid-off on Tuesday. No warning. I agree with the other guys its an opportunity to explore other options and take some time for yourself. I personally am going to concentrate on finishing school. I only 2 semesters left.

    Good luck!

I would agree. It sucks to get laid off. I have been there, but putting your energy into something else can help.

It still blows that you were laid off.
