I've been kicking around the idea of doing a laminate floor myself (living room, dining area and main hallway). Glad I found this thread....I think. After reading all 8 pages I'm debating doing it myself or biting the bullet and paying for the install...

I like to think that I am proof that it is doable, and it is getting done. And as you can see there are many people here willing to help, and they have all been a great help. The end is in sight with my project, and I am sure through all the pain, annoyances, headaches, and hangovers, I am going to be much happier in the end to look at the floor and know that from these two hands it came. Kind of like changing your own oil, but on a much, much, much larger scale. :drunk:

Just an update on some progress...

I wasn't sure at first that I wanted to do the insides of the kitchen cupboards, but now that I have the flooring in, I am glad I did.

    The trash pile grows...

A view of the kitchen after I matched up the entryway and got the fridge back in place. Rocky was happy to have his food and water bowl back in their normal spots. I like how the colors all go together, but I may have to start looking at a stainless stove and dishwasher...

I dozed off and had a dream that I was being chased by Canadians when they saw how I was using my table saw to make the cuts around the fireplace...

Hah...If we make it through this then I will know nothing can separate us...Until she decides we need new cabinets or something like that...

Hopefully the last of laminate will go down tonight. Then I think when it comes to molding, quarter round, cleaning, and moving the stuff back in the house I will probably have just as much work to do. Is it bad that after all this doing around the dishwasher is scaring me the most?

it's called Ashes. Added a pic of the lid because last time we were at Home Depot they didn't have the color on file. But they can mix it with the lid info.

My wife and I love the color. Honestly, you wouldn't believe how many people ask about that paint color. So many people that I have the paint lid pic on my phone.

Ha! I never noticed that. I wonder how many people have actually tried to return their paint to customer service. Only to get shot down when the person behind the counter points to the lid.

the color in the distance is Ashes. the color above the white painted area is the Studio Toupe. I have an out dated 80's home but people always comment on the wall colors being awesome. So, I guess I did something right in this remodel project.

Sorry OP.. Kinda thread jacked here. But it's cool. We got the same floors.
