The man has won the most prestigious cycling event 7 times during which other winners have routinely been stripped of their title for cheating. Teammates/Rivals have all been caught and stipped of their wins and yet he stands alone..he has passed numerous tests/inquiries etc...and yet he has emerged time and time again "innocent"...what does it all mean? I hate to say but IMHO his wins will always be tainted...like the dreaded Steroid era in baseball where records fell because of cheaters...he is an awsome athlete and his successes beyond his sport are beyond question..yet at the end of the day by giving up he is calling himself a cheater...its a sad time we look at accomplishments and the first question is "what is he on?"

Refusing to participate in USADA's fucking circus is no way close to an admission to anything other than following the rules of the UCI that has jurisdiction in this matter. The police in Tehran have no jurisdiction over me in TX for anything I do or say. Hope that example clears up obvious confusion here. And riddle me this Tygart.........What exactly does a lifetime ban on a retired cyclist do other than make you look even more like the jerkoff you are not pretending to not be? Banned from what?

I have no idea if Armstrong cheated or not ... I do respect him for the money that he raised for fighting cancer and for the inspiration that he gave to others.

Lance is very talented athlete, even at a eary age..beating everyone at racing, and the tri athletes. This is political. France [this is their sport] has always resented the American Lance Armstrong for taking the glory of bicycle raceing out of Europe [France] and becomming the greatest racer ever. International pressure and intrigue has led the USADA to harrass lance for years, even though Armstrog has passed every conceivable drug test.

You don't give up the fight if you are innocent. This "giving up" reeks with Guilty as charged.

I think he knows sooner or later he will get busted so he's just backing out.

Almost like a 'you can't fire me because I quit'.

I think its complete BS, hopefully there is some way he will get them back. I'd be pissed if someone took my medals or whatever after winning 7 of em.
