Thanks for all the good information. I went to the biggest junk yard today looking for a hood and seats and there were no Tacomas at all the place has cars and trucks coving 11 acres, but not a one. I did see a T100 with a full bench seat but it was in very bad shape and there was one 4 runner, I think it was a '99 but I wasn't sure about the seats. It was pretty well gutted. I am going to have to keep looking I guess.

search the threads here, there is one that lists the 4runner years to find matching seats from but the key is they need to be the SR5 or sport packages, the base model 4runners have completely different seat mounts for whatever the reason

Thanks again Karl. I did a search as you suggested and read the posts. Without the two sets of seats to look at it is a little confusing to me. However, I did find a set of 3rd gen., 4 Runner seats in a salvage yard. Based on what I read, I think these may fit. They are from a 2002, so will I have to mod. the one outside rail front foot?

its easy, there is a rivet holding the front foot on the seat bracket so you just grind or drill out that rivet and the foot falls right off then you do the same to yours and use a nut and bolt to reattach it and your done. no welding required but you could weld it if desired, but welding means rust so it would need cleaning and repainting after welding.

when you get a chance to turn it over and look at it real close you will see its a very simple thing that you need to do to remove the foot.

Well, I went to the salvage yard again this morning to look at the '02 4 Runner seats. As I am sure is no surprise, there weren't any seats in it. The only other seats were Camry seats and of course they mount differently. The older ones mount to the side in the rear on both sides and the newer ones look like they might work, but I didn't want to drop $100+ on a chance they might fit. So, I am back looking for 3rd gen. 4 Runner seats again, or a yard that has some Tacomas in it. There are not a lot of yards around here in SW FL. I may have to drive to Ft. Myers next.

Does anyone know if a set of 2004 Celica GT seats will fit with minor modification. I found a set for sale, but I haven't seen them yet.

anything other then 4runner seats (or taco seats) will require you drill new holes to bolt it in so just about any seat with 4 flat mounting points can be "made to fit" you just need to pay attention to the seat height so you aren't too low or bumping your head on the roof getting in and out.

just be patient and keep an eye out and you will find some 4runner seats out there and while you wait, google taco seat swaps and see the choices others have used in their trucks. some went all out for luxury car seats with all the extras and some just took what was around.

I can tell you this, I have found most Toyota seats will come apart and universally swap out easy from one model to another so concentrate on the floor mount and if need be you can get any seat to swap the backs and cushions from to make it look nice

I found a set of these,

2005-2008 Tacoma Access Cab TRD Sport/X-Runner Seats

But the rails are longer by 4" and narrower by 1 1/4". I am still looking but not finding much.

    Thanks Karl.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
1st gen seats suck in any form, back killing bastards! You can probably, make the landy seats fit OP but will have to drill new holes or cut the mounts off the existing seats and weld them on to the new ones. I'm on the lookout for third gen 4Runner seats myself.

full bench seats yes, but the 60/40 and the buckets are just as comfortable as any regular car seat and the 01-04 have very comfortable seats much better then the 96-00 years

I agree up to a certain point. My 02 double cab limited's bucket seats are nice and comfy (almost as comfortable as the seats in my wife's accord). I haven't been able to compare them side by side with my buddies 3rd gen 4runner, but I'm thinking they're almost identical.

Not the seats in my 02 extra cab. Even after installing Wet Okole seat covers with lumbar adjustment, I still find myself struggling to find a "comfortable" setting. The seats still look and feel new too, they just don't have the support in the right areas for me.

My 04 seat kills my back on long drives. I don't like them at all.

well you guys should have tried my 99 60/40 seats which I felt were very comfortable just like the camry or corolla seats and those things were 10 times better then the full benches they were like an old fashioned metal spring mattress, lol.

I was in heaven getting into my 04 now with its 60/40 bench seats which feel 10 times better then my 99 60/40 seats and I have chronic back pain but the 99 seats didn't hurt my back at all and these 04 seats feel great to me and I regularly take 150 mile round trips.

I guess it all depends on you expectations as to what your perceptions will be but if your looking for luxury car feel in your seats then your not going to find it in a truck.

I'm not looking for or expecting a luxury car feel at all, I just need more support. The bucket seats in my extra cab are just so flat.

I suffer from back spasms and neither our accord (lowered but still a comfortable ride) or s2000 (lowered and very firm ride) give me any problems on long drives. I've driven each of our vehicles at least 250+ miles one way during our frequent road trips. I haven't taken my limited on a long road trip yet (going on one this weekend) but the seats in it are very well bolstered. I guess we can agree that they work for some but not everyone.

Sorry for getting off topic OP, just wanted to clarify the concerns I have with my seats. Good luck fitting the Land Rover seats in your truck. One way to get seats that "bolt-in" would be to go aftermarket. I almost went with Corbeau but decided to save a little more for better quality seats...then I bought a 1st gen limited with the nicer, sportier, 4runner looking seats.

I found a set of 2001 4 Runner seats and am in the process of modifying them to fit. Thanks for all your help.

Good find! Don't forget to post pics of them (and the install process if possible).
