Both Macs and Pc's (Depending on brand) are great computers. It's just like others have said, it comes down to personal preference. I've owned 5 computers so far, 4 of which have been pc's. All were great computers, and the one I use now is 6 years old and still runs strong after all the crap I've put it through (could use a restore). The macbook I used for about a month or two was a great computer and very interesting based on how Apple set up the os. After putting it through its paces I crashed it (Was more or less asked to push it as hard as I could), reloaded it, and ran it fine again for another month before giving it back to an Apple retailer. It definitely all comes down to personal preference between the two. The main thing you should worry about is getting good hardware.

BTW just ordered and Alienware M14x yesterday, can't wait for it to come in!

Around $26,000 worth of unleaded in the fuel tank.
A Macbook with MS Windows and MAC OS set up for dual boot is very useful. They have super long battery life and are versatile.

Ive noticed the battery life on this thing is awesome. I left it on my end table for a couple days, came back to look some stuff up and it had hardly lost charge.

Lasts a long time when surfing the webs also (relative to my super old computer)

glad to hear you like your air! thats what I was going to recommend...
only things you might consider investing in is:
VGA adaptor and/or hdmi adaptor- mainly if you will be using a monitor or using it for presentation on a projector or something.
And (and this is purely extra) a $20 apple remote. It is one of the cheapest things in the store, and about two years ago i figured I would try it.... absolutely love that thing. lets you advance songs, slides, pics... great little tool, and pretty inexpensive!

I'm figuring it out, it's already covered in stickers ha

I'm having a hard time choosing a case or sleeve though, I'm too picky

I liked the Speck ones but it appears they all break in a month on the ultra thin version for the Air

I just got the base M14x r2 model, I was wanting to upgrade the memory and cpu. But I figured I'd save some money and upgrade it as needed in the future. I'm impatiently waiting for it! Should be here Friday :D
