Large piece of metal on rear diff drain plug magnet

    i think mine got mashed up between the gears. did a rear diff fluid change and was full of metal sludge on the magnet.

    It's why the plug is magnetized. To pick up swarf like that.

    It's also why the oil pan plug isn't magnetized. Because if there is anything to be picked up, it's too late anyway. :D
