Largest tire size to run on SEMA 17" TRD PRO wheel

Just got a set of SEMA 17" TRD PRO wheels, which I think are 17x7.

What is the largest size tire I can run with them? TIA

 

Lift? No lift?

Stick with a 265/70, or a 255 if you want a taller tire instead of a more narrow one (these are assuming you have no lift).

255/75/17 is tallest
265/70/17 is widest (and a little taller than stock)
Without a lift or trimming inner fenders.

 

255 is more narrow

 

You can run 265/70/R17s (1" over stock) on them with no lift. There are pic of that size on my truck in the KO link in my sig. The SEMA wheels have a little less backspace than mine, so they are pushed out more, but are also a little narrower (7.5 vs 7) so they will be positioned pretty close to the same as mine.

 

255/75/17

 

Im leaning towards 265/70/17 BFG KO2. Will those fit ok without rubbing? I still have stock mud flaps all around.

 

I like the 255s better. Have ran both sizes. I like the taller sidewall, it rides smoother. I like the tall skinny look too. But honestly the 255s don't look skinny. I wish I went 245 really. Plus better in the snow.

 

I believe you are ok without rubbing on the flaps. I'm running lower profile RokBlokz flaps, so I can't say for sure. You will likely rub on the mini flap in front of the front tire (yes, in front). Easily removed with 2 bolts though. The KO2s are a good tire, be sure to get them in C-load.

Also, the red TRD lettering will come off those wheels when you wash them! There are several threads on this, but the best idea is to spray over them with a clear coat spray to protect the label from peeling off.

c load is lighter tire correct? Also never heard about trd lettering on the tire...can you please explain more? Where is good place price wise to get ko2's?

 

If you want a more comfortable ride and you don't off road look into P or LT rated. Lighter weight and more comfortable ride.

 

I dont primarily off road but need to be able to do some light trails when mountain biking. BFg ko2 come in C, P and LT?

 

The KO2s do not come in P. P stands for passenger tire. LT is Light Truck. In terms of tire weight it goes P<C<D<E. C is the lightest truck tire and more than enough for our trucks.

According to the post here, running 265/70R17 KOs on SEMA wheels may experience infrequent occasional rubbing on the front flap:

As to the lettering on the wheel, the red label is a sticker, and not very durable. It peels off and looks like crap after you start washing it. The red really pops on those wheels so the favored solution is to remove the center cap and spray it with a clear coat spray, so the sticker is protected under the clear coat. I pinged wedgemoose above because I know he has gone though this. There is a thread on it, but I'm still looking for it.

Sorry Crashnburn beat me too it. That's the thread. Best way is to clear with semi gloss or gloss. You can tell with your nose right on the rim but few steps back they look perfect. I've had about 4 months now and washed probably 20 times. They are still perfect. The tires and rims barley hit that little front flap. But once off not a problem. No need for the that front flap anyways. Here's a pic with the KO2's and coated centers

 

the rims look great on the trucks that's for sure but what is all the hype about if it's just a trd sticker on the center cap.

 

For those needs I would just go with a P-rated AT tire. KO2 has a C-rated at ~45 lbs which isn't a terrible weight.
