    *UPDATE*
    11/16/18

So these sat for a while but they eventually sold out... Months ago. Haven't had any plans to do more wood but I do have a slightly different cast aluminum version currently in stock as of this update, here:

    https://www.orezonadesigns.com/collections/in-stock/products/taco-tags

(I stopped getting any notifications on this thread so sorry for the really overdue update!)

    ....................................

For price, the all-in cost is $15 shipped in bubble mailer with tracking
($12 +$3 USPS 1st class mailed thick mailer to entire US, including HI, AK and Canada)

Hey everyone! Some of you may know that I'm the guy who's behind the Taco Coma morale patches that I started last year. Those have been doing great and are steadily chugging along with multiple new designs in the production process.

I'm here to see if people who are either a fan of those designs or maybe just want something different to add to their "Tacoma themed gear"...

I have a line on a laser that is capable of cutting wood/leather/plastics and I thought I'd start with something fairly simple but definitely unique.

    ----------

    ROUND 1 PRODUCTION LIST:

***Round 1 list set & payment instructions going out (1/26/18)***

I'll send out PMs for payment details.

The idea is to send over a bulk order for the vendor to get them all done at once and then ship the lot to me to distribute out.
Once I have them and have created labels, I'll send out the tracking info.

    # Name Wood Type
    #1. Medic (cherry) PAID
    #2. ODNAREM (both) PAID
    #3. EPBlueTaco (both) PAID
    #4. MotoEd (both) PAID
    #5. Braves95 (both) PAID
    #6. mtip (both) PAID

    -------------

These are the samples I just received today and I'm very happy with them:

    20180120_203927.jpg

There are a lots of options and things that I'd like to work with the community here on figuring out before actually doing a larger run of these.

First, here are some of the details...

    20180120_203857.jpg

    20180120_203936.jpg

    20180120_203959.jpg

So to start off, I'm going to stick with this design because it's already been converted for this process. I think keeping it simple to one engraved design will keep costs and turnaround time down so even though ALL of the designs I've done are possible, the patch files aren't a super fast conversion process.

For sure, ALL of these will be individually numbered on the back of each one so.
The number will be sequentially in order in which the piece was paid for. #1 will be order #1, and so forth...

Shape will be asymmetrical with sloping left side following the shape of the taco and squared with rounded corners on the side that the actual leather strap goes into.

You have two choices for wood:
    Maple (light)
    Cherry (dark)
If you go with a lighter wood like Maple, the contrast of the design is more prominent. Darker stuff like Walnut is more "subdued".
Please specify your choice of wood type when calling "IN".

The leather on them is hand punched for the "fob" that has a small .25" metal ring to attach to keyrings, zippers, ears, etc. ;)

Once we've got like 15-20ish parts committed, I'll put an order in per production round.
The great thing is that there isn't actually a limit so as new people commit, I can just have those made too but batches of 20-30 at a time is totally manageable. Turn around time would be 2 weeks to ship after the batches have been submitted and payments taken.

For price, the base cost would be $15 shipped in bubble mailer with tracking ($12 +$3 USPS 1st class mailed thick mailer to entire US, including HI, AK and Canada).

    ------------
A few additional future options that I'm going to check on the possibilities of:

    • Loop velcro glued on back to attach small patches
    • "customized" etching on back (your forum handle, truck name, etc.)
    • Hook velcro on back to make an actual patch
Should these options be possible, they will have to cost extra for the time and materials but until I know *IF* they can be done, they are only just to see if anyone would be interested.

Inside cabinetmaker secret. Maple stained a cherry color looks just like cherry. If you're good you add the black streak in and no one will be the wiser. Maple would work for both and leave it up to the end user for the stain if they want cherry.

    Can it be pink :anonymous:?
Kidding. I Love it! I'm in for sure! :taco: I prefer a burled wood of some sort but I know that would drive the cost up tremendusly. Add me to the list.

    Here's the latest update:

We can do all three wood types, but if we want them to look obviously different then maple and walnut are the best two. I agree that a burl would be sweet but spendy. Maple is light enough that you can apply your own pink stain, or purple or red or, or... ;)
We can do cherry too buy only if there's enough demand.

Let's come to a consensus for the shape.
I'd rather do asymmetrical just so it is different.
    Everyone cool with that idea?

For now, we are going to out any Velcro options on hold for at least the first run.

I'm going to work with my source to see if Velcro can be done later.

So everyone think this should be changed to a sign up list now?

Looking for 20 minimum pieces ordered to get things rolling...
