Last Man on Earth

Did a search first but didn't see anyone mentioning this...

Does anyone else watch Last Man on Earth with Will Forte on Fox? Last night he was driving around in a '16 Taco. I love product placement, especially when it's a Taco but I couldn't let this one go. The show started last year and the concept is that everyone died except a few people so if the world 'ended' last year how is he driving around in a '16 if they just came out a few months ago? I let my imagination run wild, so I am assuming he stumbled upon a Toyota plant and stole a prototype that hadn't been put into full scale production yet. It's the only logical explanation I can come up with...

No like Creative License...Creative (or "artistic") license is generally understood to mean the freedom artists may take when handling factual material. Like using a 2016 Tacoma in a setting that takes place four years ago

 

2 weeks ago the FBI agents also drive off in a blue Tacoma on the show Quantico.

 

I know the show started last year, but I think it was set in a generic time in the near future. (3-5/probably less than 10 years). I never got the impression that the world ended the day the show started.

 

It's set I believe in 2018. Doesn't really matter but definitely after 2016. I think it's awesome that they have it in there. Last season was all with a Silverado.

 

I haven't noticed Detective Joe Kenda driving one yet.

 

Do you mean the limited or Tacoma in general, because if you haven't seen, the Tacoma has survived an asteroid and monster attack several years ago. #wow

 

It's a TV show, not real life. Most people don't realize that that is a 2016 Tacoma that just came out a few months ago. Get over it

based on how often Toyota changes their models, it could of been a 2025 Tacoma.... just still looks like the 2016. But I think his 2025 had power seats and more hp.

Yes, never buy the first year a truck comes out. "Toyota quality is slipping big time." Could you elaborate? I'm waiting until 2017 to buy a TRD Sport Access Cab LB.

 

My wife and I watch and really enjoy the show. I did notice the nice Limited Tacoma last night. The funny part is that season one he drove a Silverado and then later a Colorado. Guess he came to his senses and picked up a real truck this season!
