but seriously, you should use that truck...its crying on the inside...it was built to be an offroad machine, it has dreams of trails runs...its wanted to be a real truck ever since a baby on the assembly line... your crushing its dreams

I get VERY tempted. VERY VERY VERY tempted. Specially now since my buddy got a Taco and he wants to go on runs. I just dont want to get involved cuz once I start thats it, theres no stopping me. Ill buy some coilovers, new springs, new tires, some skids, bumpers, etc. And before I know it, I'm $5k poorer. Im sure eventually Ill do what Johnny does and do some easy going trails every now and then but I gotta stay away from what I did before. I just dont have enough money to blow and my wife agreed to let me get the FJ on the condition that I didnt destroy it to bits and pieces like I did the taco. So....


with that being said. When are we doing the Rubicon?

 

dude you dont have to punish your truck... you had lift tires locker and going 123mph up bypasses while my little weenie truck didnt break a sweat... 4wd takes the punishment out of offroading.... all you have to do is one trail run and see how EASYYY it is to wheel then you will realize that skids and sliders are plenty... you already have wheels/tires. and i thought you ordered sliders... add skids and your golden...

 

well we made it... no damage but the sliders got a good workout today

came down HARD HARD on my slider on an off camber turn. just a little paint removed, no damage no deformation. they are tough!!!

I personally use bedliner.

 

Hammer finish rustoleum... holds up great... slippery when wet though lol

 

we did gold mountain> holcomb trail> "john bull extension" (still a black diamond)> was gonna do the gate keeper but chickened out...(stock skids still)> white mountain trail

I used that rustoleum too but it sucked! I dis three coats if primer and three of it. I ended up doing spray on rustoleum bedliner over it.

it was very nice... sliders give so much more confidence and relieves stress. i will do john bull but not until i at least get some sort of protection... just dont know what skids to get... bud built is a bit pricy so im thinking ATO

i keep having to take my stocker off and weld 3/16" flat stock as reinforcement maybe time i pull the trigger on a new one
